I found this beautiful 27” RCA colortrak 2000. It was lying outside at my local dump about a year ago and i got it in before it got too damaged (was raining that day). Someone cut the cord so i threw one on and tried to fire it up after a couple days of letting it dry out but it was dead. Long story short a years past since then and im finally able to take a crack at it. Ive done basic repairs on a few crts before, but ive never had one that wouldnt do anything at all. I gave the board a once over and found a fuse, I replaced it (even though the one that was in was fine) but as you can expect that did nothing. I really want to get this guy going, so i figured id ask around to see if anyone had any input before i go jack something up. Also, look at the inputs on this thing!!

I found a broken wm-10 on ebay, opened it up, replaced the belt with a new one and it worked right away. Except intermittently it’ll warble. I’ve determined that it happens every time the tape flaps like you see in the gif. I was wondering if its possibly some kind of tension issue, but i cant seem to find a specific tension adjustment in the service manual.

I had a motorola z3 64gb, but i woke up one morning and saw it had fallen from my bed the night before. I attempted to charge but it didn’t Do anything. I tried different chargers and different outlets and nothing. So i bought one on ebay that worked but had a screen with dead pixels. I bought it and swapped the screens from my old one to the new phone, but this one hasnt powered on either. Ive had it plugged up about an hour at this point and still nothing

My father visited to help me today on my little project. Almost got it driving! Running great but needs a new clutch cable. For those who care it’s a 1.8L 1975.

Just rearranged some things and figured it’d be worth showing off my new setup. Newest edition is the TEAC, replacing my old 2 track teac with this 4 track. Ill leave the models for everything as well for anyone curious. Except the TT. Servicing my Sansui right now and the only other one i have working is a crappy ion.

I have a 1989 GE 9808SE and when trying to make a recording this evening found it sounded terrible. Ive tried 3 different tapes from TDK, Sony and BASF and all make the noise so i know its not a tape quality issue or anything. Very strange. Its seeming to get worse over time. Anyone have this issue?

Pretty familiar with home audio stuff but not so much on the portable side of things. I got this walkman today from some other stuff i had bought. (Scored a real nice Kenwood receiver!) but it very clearly needs some work. Does anyone have/know where i can find replacement boards/ribbon cables? This one has some bad battery corrosion. Thanks!
