Problems with Mous

Has anyone else had problems with Mous? I’ve had several issues with their support, as well as their social media deleting/hiding/removing my comments/posts.

It’s unfortunate bc their MBP sleeve and their backpacks offer really good protection. But their service and support is not good, or at least this may be the case in the US.

Inaccurate stock, tax problems, and week-long support delays at Mous - Buyer beware during back-to-school

TL;DR: Mous charged me sales tax during my state’s tax holiday, accepted my order for an item its website incorrectly showed as available, held my entire order without notifying me, took a full week to respond, and ignored the tax issue that prompted my inquiry. Its proposed apology was “free shipping” that was already free. Mous has since put more energy into hiding or deleting my complaints on X, Instagram, and Facebook than into resolving my legitimate issue.

……..

If you are considering ordering from Mous during the back-to-school season, take screenshots of the product page, advertised availability, discounts, and tax calculation before submitting your order.

I placed an order during my state’s back-to-school sales tax holiday, but Mous charged me sales tax. I contacted customer support specifically to have the tax charge reviewed and refunded.

Mous took a full week to reply—and when it finally responded, the message did not address my tax inquiry at all. Instead, Mous informed me for the first time that an item in my order was actually out of stock, despite being shown as available on its website, and that the inventory issue had prevented my entire order from shipping.

In other words, I had to contact Mous about an unrelated tax problem just to discover that my order was being held because of an out-of-stock item and inaccurate website inventory. Mous never proactively notified me about the delay, the unavailable item, or the website problem.

Even after Mous acknowledged the inventory discrepancy, the product continued to be advertised as available. That means other customers could continue ordering an item Mous already knew was out of stock, without any backorder warning or estimated availability date.

As an apology, Mous offered to split my order and “cover the shipping costs for both shipments.” The problem? My original order already included free shipping. Presenting “free shipping” that was already free as compensation is not a meaningful resolution.

Mous has also spent more energy hiding or deleting my comments and replies on its X, Instagram, and Facebook pages than it has spent resolving the legitimate tax, inventory, and order issues I raised.

Inventory errors can happen. What is unacceptable is:

- Advertising an out-of-stock product as available
- Continuing to accept orders after becoming aware of the inventory error
- Holding an entire order without proactively notifying the customer
- Taking a full week to respond to a support inquiry
- Ignoring the sales-tax issue that prompted the inquiry
- Offering “free shipping” that was already included with the order
- Hiding or deleting legitimate customer complaints instead of resolving them

This is especially concerning during the back-to-school rush, when people order laptop sleeves, bags, and accessories because they need them before classes or travel.

Mous charges premium prices, but my experience with its inventory practices, checkout tax handling, communication, and customer service has been anything but premium. Order cautiously and document everything.

Open Box MBP from Best Buy

I just bought an open box MBP 16 M5 Max 18C/32C 36GB/2TB ( MGED4LL/A ) for what I think is a good deal from my local Best Buy. Condition was listed as fair and the label says “Comments : Damaged,” but I seriously can’t find anything wrong with it.

Before I left the store, I stopped by geek squad and had them pull the open box unique id number. They had no further info about why the comments said damaged.

Checklist:
- I set it up in the store with no issue.
- It has the correct charger.
- It has the correct USBC to MagSafe cable.
- I looked for dead pixels, there are none.
- The hinge seems good.
- I checked all the ports.
- Every key on the keyboard is good.
- Cinebench runs for 10 mins no problem. Both on battery and plugged in on high power.
- There are no scratches or scruffs.
- I mean the charger was never even unwrapped.
- The screen was a little dusty but that was about it.
* Checked the number of battery cycles, only 7 that’s not too bad.
* Judging from the 7 batt cycles, the OG purchase date being mid June, and the open box sticker date, they kept it the full 2 weeks and used it everyday.

….

I guess I’m looking for 2 3 things since this is my first personal Mac:

-What’s else should I do to thoroughly test this open box laptop during the return window?
(I have 60 days. I coughed up the $30 for this purchase.)

-I paid $3635 USD before tax. I believe this is several hundred under the launch price. Given the rampocalypse, is this a good price if it really is cherry?

* The gap between the OG purchase date and now is about 40 days. If I go to the Genius Bar or call the 1800 Apple number, can I get my ~40 days of warranty back?

* = added from edit

JDM TD002G E6 / ANSI Arbor Swap

I recently imported a TD002G from Japan to the US, and I’d like to install the E6 ANSI/Euro arbor.

The arbor part number from the TD002GZ01 parts pdf on the Canadian website is:

136936-8

Could someone confirm for me that this is the correct part number???

I doubt US Makita dealers can order this part bc it’s not even in their parts list (spreadsheet bottom of page).

Does anyone have a suggestion for a source in the US???

TL;DR
Where do I buy the US/ANSI/Euro/E6 arbor for a JDM TD002G in the USA?

HP Brushless Tool Kit Combo Deals

Looking for a HP brushless tool kit combo that’s a good deal like this 5 tool kit combo that is out of stock.

I care less about the batteries and more about the tools. Gen I or Gen II ok.

TLDR
Anyone know of anything that comes close to this 5 tool deal that is OOS?

Compact Brushless Blower - Battery Recommendations

Looking for battery recommendations for the Ryobi Compact Brushless Blower ( PSBLB01B ).

I like the idea of the 8Ah HP batteries because they have 21700 cells.

Any other batteries with 21700 cells that would work well in the blower, or battery recommendations in general?

Any combos to be looking for during Ryobi deal days that may help me out?

I’m considering the Ego 880 blower for car drying with the standard 4 Ah batteries from the kit, or with 6 Ah batteries for a good price off marketplace. I am concerned about arm fatigue when doing the roof of my SUV on the 6 Ah, and I’m concerned about battery life of usable turbo mode with the 4 Ah.

I tend to dry my SUV for about 15 mins with my current 120V blower when I’m prepping for wax and want the car really dry, but the 880 on turbo does have nearly twice the CFM of my current blower.

Hoping to hear opinions of those who have tried both batteries on the 880 for car drying.
