18 Interviews in 3 Months, Yet Still No Offer — What Am I Missing?

I've been job hunting for the past 3 months, and I'm honestly starting to feel exhausted by the process.

I've completed around **18 interviews** during this period. What's confusing me is that roughly **60% of them felt positive** from my side. The technical discussions went well, I was able to explain my experience and projects, and in several interviews I genuinely felt that I had a good chance.

But the final outcome has mostly been either **rejection or no response/ghosting**.

I'm a **Java Backend Developer with 3+ years of professional experience**.

**My main experience is with:**

* Java 8/17 * Spring Boot * Spring Data JPA / Hibernate * REST APIs * Microservices * MySQL / PostgreSQL * AWS * SQL optimization * Third-party API integrations

I've worked on **enterprise banking and AWS monitoring applications**, where I worked on REST API development, business logic, third-party integrations, SQL optimization, debugging production issues, and performance improvements.

I'm currently an **immediate joiner**, and I've been applying and interviewing consistently.

The difficult part is that after putting in so much preparation, it's hard to understand what I'm doing wrong when the interview itself seems to go reasonably well.

I'm trying to look at this objectively rather than simply blaming the market.

**For people who have been through a similar situation:**

* How did you figure out what was going wrong? * Did you change your resume or application strategy? * Did you change how you approached interviews? * How many interviews did it take you before finally getting an offer?

I'd genuinely appreciate some honest feedback or experiences from people who have gone through something similar.

3+ YOE Java Backend Developer | 18 Interviews in 3 Months | Still Looking | Immediate Joiner

Hi everyone,

Honestly, I didn't expect job hunting to be this difficult.

I'm a Java Backend Developer with 3+ years of professional experience, and I've been unemployed for the last 3 months. During this time, I've given around 18 interviews.

The frustrating part is that many interviews went well from my side. I was able to discuss my technical experience, projects, and problem-solving approach confidently. In around 60% of the interviews, I genuinely felt I had performed well.

But eventually, it was either a rejection or no response.

After preparing for so many interviews, attending them, waiting for feedback, and starting the process again, it honestly gets exhausting. But I'm still trying to stay positive, keep learning, and keep applying.

My Background

3+ years — Java Backend Development

Tech Stack:
Java 8/17 • Spring Boot • Spring Data JPA • Hibernate • REST APIs • Microservices • MySQL • PostgreSQL • AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, IAM) • Git • Maven • Swagger • React (Hands-on) • Flask API (Hands-on)

Experience:

  • Worked on enterprise Banking applications
  • Worked on AI-driven AWS Monitoring
  • Built scalable REST APIs and backend services
  • Integrated third-party APIs
  • Worked on SQL optimization and performance improvement
  • Debugged and resolved production issues

📍 Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
🚀 Notice Period: 0 Days / Immediate Joiner
📍 Open to: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, or Remote

I'm currently looking for a Java Backend Developer / Software Engineer opportunity.

If anyone knows of a suitable opening or can refer me, I'd genuinely appreciate the help.

As a thank-you, if a referral directly results in my successful joining, I'm happy to share my first month's salary as a referral thank-you.

I'm not looking for sympathy — I'm just looking for one genuine opportunity to prove myself.

3+ YOE Java Backend Developer | 18 Interviews in 3 Months | Immediate Joiner

Hi everyone,

I've been job hunting for the last 3 months and have gone through around 18 interviews so far.

The frustrating part is that around 60% of the interviews felt positive. The technical discussions went well and I felt confident about several of them, but I still ended up getting rejected or receiving no response.

I'm a Java Backend Developer with 3+ years of experience, working primarily with:

  • Java 8/17
  • Spring Boot
  • Spring Data JPA / Hibernate
  • REST APIs / Microservices
  • MySQL / PostgreSQL
  • AWS
  • SQL optimization
  • Third-party API integrations

I've worked on enterprise banking and AWS monitoring applications, including backend API development, business logic, third-party integrations, database optimization, debugging and production support.

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Notice Period: 0 Days / Immediate Joiner

Honestly, job hunting for the past few months has been exhausting. I'm continuing to prepare and improve, but it's difficult when interviews seem to go well and the outcome is still rejection or silence.

If anyone has advice on breaking this cycle, I'd genuinely appreciate it. And if you know of a suitable Java Backend opportunity, I'm happy to connect via DM.

Thanks everyone.
