18 Interviews in 3 Months, Yet Still No Offer — What Am I Missing?
I've been job hunting for the past 3 months, and I'm honestly starting to feel exhausted by the process.
I've completed around **18 interviews** during this period. What's confusing me is that roughly **60% of them felt positive** from my side. The technical discussions went well, I was able to explain my experience and projects, and in several interviews I genuinely felt that I had a good chance.
But the final outcome has mostly been either **rejection or no response/ghosting**.
I'm a **Java Backend Developer with 3+ years of professional experience**.
**My main experience is with:**
* Java 8/17 * Spring Boot * Spring Data JPA / Hibernate * REST APIs * Microservices * MySQL / PostgreSQL * AWS * SQL optimization * Third-party API integrations
I've worked on **enterprise banking and AWS monitoring applications**, where I worked on REST API development, business logic, third-party integrations, SQL optimization, debugging production issues, and performance improvements.
I'm currently an **immediate joiner**, and I've been applying and interviewing consistently.
The difficult part is that after putting in so much preparation, it's hard to understand what I'm doing wrong when the interview itself seems to go reasonably well.
I'm trying to look at this objectively rather than simply blaming the market.
**For people who have been through a similar situation:**
* How did you figure out what was going wrong? * Did you change your resume or application strategy? * Did you change how you approached interviews? * How many interviews did it take you before finally getting an offer?
I'd genuinely appreciate some honest feedback or experiences from people who have gone through something similar.
