Hardwood floor insulation advice

Hardwood floor insulation advice

This past winter I bought an 1889 Greek revival in zone 5b (heavy winters). First time homeowner and I am in love with the house. These wide plank wood floors are possibly original and aside from a few splits are in good shape. But there is nothing underneath them. Literally can see the basement floor through a knothole. Since I moved during the winter I just closed this room for the season and focused on the rest of the house.
This summer I added the wood burning insert in the photo and plan to use the room this winter. But all the heat just disappears through the floors. Contractors and handy folk are hard to come by here and the good ones stay booked. It’s very very rural so there just aren’t that many people to begin with.
I could use some advice or suggestions on ways that I (with just basic skills/common sense) can add some insulation under these floors. Thanks in advance!

Chelsea 30 slouch

For the curious, this is my Chelsea 30 after 6 months of daily use. Personally, I love the slouch and was hoping it would break in this way.

Adding a manual pump?

I recently bought a rural property with a well (first time on well water). After watching friends go without water for weeks after a disaster a few years ago I’m concerned about losing water if the power goes out for an extended period of time.
Is it possible to add a backup manual pump in addition to the electric pump that’s already installed? This would be for emergency/crisis use only, no need for it otherwise.

Plant identification app?

I don’t know if this is the right place for this, but I just bought a house on about an acre and I’m planning to start a garden over the next year or so. There are a number of plants I don’t recognize (I moved here from another zone) that may or may not be something I’d like to keep. A previous owner did some planting at one point but let it go.
What app or resources would you recommend for learning what is already growing on my property? I’m in zone 5b if that is helpful. Thanks in advance!

Midsummer Night Dream vs

How does Midsummer Night Dream compare to ILNP Flower Child? The swatch pics look different enough but I’ve learned not to trust Mooncat swatches. If I already have Flower Child do I need Midsummer?
