Munson for Governor

In a fairly red suburb.

I shall pray for “extreme liberal voter participation.”

Tulsa International YouTube Live Stream

An American Airlines Boeing 777 made a buttery smooth landing at Tulsa International today, in town for some TLC at American’s largest maintenance base. N770AN is a 1999 B777-200. It arrived from DFW, and had flown there from Paris.

I’ve seen 777s parked here before, but I’ve never seen one take off or land in Tulsa. I only knew about today’s landing thanks to Alpha Sky One Aviation’s live stream. He’s an enthusiast who has been braving the storms and heat over the past few months to bring Tulsa AvGeeks live plane spotting video. The frequent OK ANG F-16 departures are quite popular!

Several airport webcams have been popping up worldwide on YouTube, and I’m very excited to see one locally. I don’t know him, but I wanted to promote his hard work.

Bicentennial Pillow

My Great Aunt made this for me in 1976. Took it out of storage this week to help me celebrate the 250th anniversary.

2005 CompUSA Flyer from The Sunday Oklahoman

Sorry, January 2004 (can’t edit title). I kept this little flyer because I bought one of the LiteON DVD recorders on the front page. It didn’t last very long. Other LiteON DVD-RW drives I bought for my PCs were great, though. I replaced this DVD recorder with a Panasonic which I still have and works great.

A terrible panoramic image of Crossroads Mall in 1986

For the dozens of nerds in OKC this was taken with an RCA Newvicon tube potato camera mated to a portable Magnavox VHS recorder purchased at Sight & Sound at SW 59th & Western.

Edit: Found the receipt for the VCR and the manual! Posted in a comment below.

1984 Lufthansa Inflight Entertainment Guide

…or portions thereof, anyway. From my June 1984 flight from DFW to Frankfurt in a DC10. The audio quality on those tube headsets were chef’s kiss!

I only listened to country music up to this point because Grandpa said rock n’ roll was the devil’s music! But die International Hitparade on channel 9 changed my mind. Loved me some Tracey Ullman, Queen, Lionel Richie, and The Thompson Twins after this.

1986 Queen Anne Cafeteria Commercial

Recorded from KTVY on February 1, 1986 during the Late Night with David Letterman 4th Anniversary Special.

I’ve never heard the word ‘Fruissants’ before. I guess it’s a fruit-filled croissant? Maybe I’m misunderstanding it completely.

Went with my Grandparents to Furr’s at Shepard Mall several times, but I never went to Queen Ann. Prolly too bougie for Grandpa.
