I tested Ghorgon versus other single monsters. Maybe effects will be interested for someone.

I had noticed how strong Giant is vs Ghorgon. One Giant won and second almost too. So I thought maybe Ghorg is bugged and decided to check with other monsters.

Effects show Ghorg is not bugged, but Giant is very strong, for its much lower price. Therefore if you do not need speed, choose Giant. Maybe Ghorg should get bigger bonus vs large.

Sea elemental is also strong. One won, with help of spawn. Second almost.

Merwyrm is trash. By the way, even worse versus infantry. It is clearly visible in comparison to cheaper Saurian. Animation is secret stat and Merwyrm has silly and bugged animations. It must be fixed.

Animations of death from fire, cold and acid could exist in the game because such kinds of damages exist. What other such animations could be?

Battle for Middle Earth had animations of death by fire.

Blood dlc could include such animations.

I suppose CA will not do it now, but maybe in another games. Especially Warh 40k.

So let's discuss ideas based on the game we have now. What other damages exist and could have spectacular death effects?

Cathay could get Dragon turtle

Cathay could get Dragon turtle giant monster unit.

It could carry howdah with cannon. It would be similar to stegadons. It could be the toughest and one of the slowest monsters in the game. Essentially Cathay’s tank.

It was mentioned in the lore, just as coatl which already is in the game.

It fits Cathay thematically due to chinese culture and battle style.

Model could look like real animal Alligator Snapping Turtle. Maybe bastiladon skeleton could be reworked.

Most slayers still lack Deathblow animation. Even dlc ones. Should they get it?

Just a heads up that Gotrek, Ungrim and Giant Slayers still don't have the Deathblow animation the regular slayers have, therefore lack this basic slayer ability : r/totalwar

Besides looking good, it also seems to have measurable effect in battle.

If characters would have it, it could even have funny and strong effect: "Eh, they both have significantly higher WS, I could easily see one of them taking down the character that just killed them via a deathblow animation, which would be impactful in game and very in line with the lore."

Those with two handed weapons could have - "They could give them a last roundhouse swing as a Death animation."

Doomseekers and some characters could have the same what basic slayers already have.

Even pirates could have the same too.

Maybe even new animations would not be big deal: "I've been done some modding so I need to pitch in here.

The Deathblow skill has two major parts code-wise: Animation and Attack. Attack also includes attack AoE size, shape, damage, target ideal entity size and maximum target multipliers, but these draw from already existing code (AoE shape) or given number values (damage).

Implementing Deathblow to Giant Slayers would require using already existing 2h dwarf attack animation (multiple in game already) and inputting damage/shape/targets. It's literally just cobbling together existing parts. I could do a mod for implementing this with modder's nonexisting tools in an hour. There are already mods that give certain units working Deathblow. An experienced dev familiar with Warhammer's engine and tools should be able to do it in less than an hour. It is just a non-priority issue and thus on the backburner."

Are Flame cannons really better now than before rework?

Their attack seems to be easier to dodge and has low explosive damage.

It also looks worse.

If someone does not remember how it used to look, here is reminder.

They were reworked in this patch.

Total War: WARHAMMER III - Update 5.0.0 - Total War: WARHAMMER

By the way, brimstone gyrocopter became as trashy as the other one used to be. Completely useless. They took good rockets and gave to new, special campaign version.

There are now two normal gyrocopters dedicated versus infantry, but one has armor piercing.

The worse one is even more expensive.

The worse one uses fire, but somehow steam of the better one is supposed to be more armor piercing and dedicated versus large.

Song similar to Linkin park's In the end and Timbaland - Apologize ft. OneRepublic.

Similar by melody and having at least 2 singers.

1 singer probably sings only chorus.

Similar to Timbaland - Apologize ft. OneRepublic if speed is set to 1,25-1,50.

It is probably from time before 2008.

There should be option to switch off ALL Unusual locations.

Rogue armies too, by the way.

Options do not hurt anyone.

Game would be more interesting and it would be more sensible if flying units would be able attack by diving. There could be options for such combat and landing. They should have to land if severely wounded. There would be another depth in combat. Now flying units only move by flying.

https://youtu.be/v2W7Tj5urFc?si=nrNx-weQdlC6GTu0&t=1171

The same like in the movies

The same like really

By the way, BFME also had:

- gates without bugs,

- some walls with stairs broad enough for artilery,

- animations of death by fire.

By the way, how will flying units in Warh 40k work? Hopefully not like dwarf gyrocopters in Warhammer trilogy.

1. They were "reworked" in patch Total War: WARHAMMER III - Update 5.0.0 - Total War: WARHAMMER:

.

A) Basic Gyrocopter, with ridiculous steam attack, dedicated versus infantry, used to be so

weak it was useless.

CA improved it in the patch, by armor piercing and longer range, which is good of course.

It only needs silly steam animation attack changed to flamethrower and added "Burnt!"

debuff to it, lowering enemy leadership, to be PERFECT in its anti-infantry role.

So its attack would be like Irondrake flamethrowers.

It should have been called Gyrocopter flamethrower (anti-infantry).

.

B) Brimstone Gyrocopter used to shoot armor piercing, burning rockets, like Irondrakes

with torpedoes. It had 115, mostly armor piercing, missile strength, and 100 range.

It used to be dedicated versus single targets and even had bonus versus large. It was

good at its role for its price. It only needed more models in group, to be PERFECT in its

anti-large role.

It should have been called Gyrocopter rocketlauncher (anti-large).

.

.

2. Unfortunately CA removed 40% of range and rockets from the brimstone version.

It was given flamethrower without armor piercing!

So practically became another anti-infantry, versus lightly armored targets.

Almost the same like basic steam gyrocopter before rework:

.

A) Rationally, how can steam be more damaging, so more armor piercing and at longer

range, than fire?

.

B) It is bad idea to have both versions dedicated vs infantry.

.

C) The brimstone version became useless. I tested it against a few kinds of units:

- It performed a bit better only versus trolls, due to their fire weakness.

- It is worse even versus goblins.

- It is much worse versus ushabti, if both gyrocopters start firing at maximum range.

If they start shooting at maximum range of the brimstone version, it deals 5 more damage!

.

D) Keep in mind the useless brimstone version is also MORE EXPENSIVE!

.

.

3. Here is CA's explanation of the idea -

"Their weapons have also had a bit of an overhaul, with the Steam Gun on the regular

Gyrocopter being adept at damaging armoured targets.

Brimstone Guns have undergone a vast transformation to become more accurate to their

tabletop incarnation. The Brimstone Gun now fires a stream of hot fire at the enemy, much

like an Irondrake would.

The intention here is that the Brimstone Guns can now be used to hose down lightly

armoured enemy infantry with fire, whilst the regular Gyrocopters pepper larger, more

armoured targets with their AP Steam Gun."

.

It is ridiculous! Everyone playing the game and thinking rationally knows:

- Not armor piercing area attack CANNOT be better at attacking anything at least lightly

armored, than armor piercing area attack!

- Area attack CANNOT be good against larger target. Also again, why would steam be

better than fire?!

.

.

4. What is more, CA made another version of gyrocopters, but only for campaign. It is called trollhammers version and shoots antilarge, flaming rocket!

So it is just old, good, pre-rework brimstone version, made even too good, by longer range and stronger damage!

.

A) Grudge settler's attack animation should be given back to the one called Brimstone,

with old 115 mostly armor piercing, fire damage and old 100 range and new name -

Gyrocopter rocketlauncher (anti-large).

.

B) Steam gyrocopter should get flamethrower attack animation and Burnt! debuff from

current Brimstone and new name - Gyrocopter flamethrower (anti-infantry).

.

C) Grudge settler should get new attack. Armor piercing, runic guided missile, magic,

flaming, with weakness to fire damage debuff, damage over time and vortex damage over area.

Attack can look like Chaos dwarfs Deathshrieker rocket launcher. Vortex can look like

tzeentch ones.

I suggest renaming the grudge settler Gyrocopter to Gyrocopter runic missile-launcher.

.

.

5. By the way, new, from rework Flame cannons attack looks much worse. Maybe even performs worse too.
