Chef who wants to offer AirBnB private chef services

My husband is a chef and works as a CDC for a well known restaurant in our small town. He wants to offer private chef services for AirBnBs but doesn’t know where to start (nor does he know how Reddit works lol).

There are currently no chef services being offered in our town via AirBnB. Does anyone have experience getting onto AirBnB, or are there other popular experience websites you’d recommend?

Thanks!

Edit: He is looking into AirBnB so he can make some extra cash without being overly shared on social media and drawing attention away from his restaurant.

How to stay equally motivated...at night

I try not to eat after 8 PM but even then I have a tendency to overindulge in sweets or carbs leading up to the cutoff. On the occasional nights I work until after 8 PM, I give in and have something sweet when I get home around 9 even though I'm not hungry.

I don't withold sweets or carbs during the day so I don't think depriving myself is the reason...but I swear all motivation to stick to the plan goes out the window at night.

I've always had this problem (even when I wasn't cutting off food at 8 PM) and I could use any advice!

Should I work in the ICU as a new grad? Or float?

I understand posts like this exist but I'm in a unique position and I could use some advice.

I have a year left of school and will be applying for positions at the end of this year (I work at the hospital as an extern and get the benefit of internal hiring). I am seriously considering the ICU because I am interested in critical care, I love learning, and I want to advance my education. I have also worked on the unit and love the staff.

My problem is that I work for a hospital in a small town and most of our ICU patients are med overflow or stepdown. We have L1 patients but they are not a majority. We may have 1 intubated patient at any given time. We do have a cath lab so cardiac patients are common.

Am I shooting myself in the foot by working at a small-scale ICU? Will I truly become a confident ICU nurse if this is my only ICU experience? I do not want to work at another hospital when I graduate, but I may want to in the future.

I am also considering a float position bc it pays more and I can still get some critical care experience (though when I do eventually work in the ICU I will probably only ever get the med overflow or stepdown patients).

Any insight is helpful. Thank you!

Trouble with overnight oats

I use rolled oats and make oatmeal on the stovetop but I’d love to make overnight oats for added convenience.

My problem is that my oats don’t soak up enough liquid and end up super chewy… even when I pour boiling water on them and let them soak overnight. Am
I using the wrong kind of oats?

First session...can I go in a sauna?

Just had my first session 5 days ago. Zero blistering, redness, itchiness, etc. It feels as if nothing's happened. Would it be alright to go into a sauna 1 week out from my session?

One tattoo is on my hip and will be covered by a bathing suit. The other is a small tat on my arm that will be uncovered.

5 periods and now I’m worried it’s gone again

And next week I leave for a long distance biking trip. My cycles have been 31, 43, 28, 29, and 34 days apart. This current cycle is 34 days out so fingers crossed it happens!

Feeling discouraged. Does this sound like I’m still doing something wrong? I was over exercising and under-fueling when it started but I’ve been doing so much better. My initial problem was cutting out fat and shooting for 15k steps per day but I’ve dropped both of those habits.

Has anyone managed to get/keep their period while pursuing athletic goals?

This trip is the highlight of my year so I’m going to enjoy it… then I guess I’ll have to get my sh** together when I get back.

What size Uber do I need for 2 people and 2 bikes packed into boxes?

And what is the likelihood of finding an Uber of that size in southern California? Minimal extra luggage -- just a duffle bag.

Thanks!

Studying over summer break?

Just finished my first year of nursing school. What should I do with 3 1/2 months' worth of summer break? I don't want to forget everything!

If it matters, we use ATI. I do also have some pharmacology flashcards and an NCLEX textbook I could review...but I'd love to get advice to see what works for others!

Thanks

Period mostly back to normal, except…

My period used to be really structured. I’d get it about every 28 days and it would last 4-5 days. Now after recovering from HA, I spot for a day about 10-14 days before my period.

Does this mean anything?

BSU online RN-BSN question

I know this is kind of a weird sub for this post but I'm not sure where else to put it (and I didn't get any responses on NursingStudent)...

I’m planning to start at BSU online for my RN-BSN this summer and take 2 classes over 10 weeks—but I’m also going on vacation for 10 days right in the middle. My advisor said the classes are self-paced but didnt really answer whether my vacation would be an issue.

Does anyone know if BSU professors release all assignments at once? Or do they trickle them out throughout the quarter? I’m taking RN 401 and 403 for reference.

Thank you!

Getting reimbursed from The Guild for a BSN?

I'm interested in enrolling in Boise State U to get my RN-BSN. I'm not currently a full time employee at the hospital so I'm unable to see a wide range of programs offered via Guild (just a handful of random certificates). I also can't submit a tuition reimbursement request (I can only request reimbursement for application fees and whatnot).

I understand I can be eligible for up to $5250 in tuition reimbursement for a program outside the Guild. I guess what I'm asking is, has anyone applied for tuition reimbursement for a degree program at an accredited college (like BSU) and gotten declined?

Ways to stand out for critical care positions

I'm a first year working on my ADN. I'm currently externing at the hospital and just completed orientation to Tele Tech.

I'm interested in working in the ICU or ED after graduating and I'm looking for ways to enhance my resume. What are some useful ways to spend my summer boosting my credentials/experience?

I'm curious about getting my ACLS? Also I am considering starting on my RN-BSN (I've enrolled to a 4 year that lets you take some classes before getting your license)....but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

I'm almost done with my first year of an ADN program and I've applied to a college that offers an online RN-BSN program which offers a couple of classes to take before getting my license.

I could theoretically start early June and get 6 credits knocked out with almost 2 months left of summer break before starting 2nd year. I work at my hospital part-time, so I'd have to pay for this semester out of pocket...but there's a good chance I could get reimbursed starting next year if I just wait until I'm a full time RN at the hospital.

Positives of enrolling = getting a head start on something I'm going to do anyway

Negatives of enrolling = $2500+ out of pocket to start now versus getting reimbursed if I wait a year, also spending half of my summer taking classes.

I have a lot I want to accomplish in the next few years (get more education, get experience, travel, possibly start a family, etc.) and this BSN is a hoop I have to jump over. It feels silly wasting a summer when I could be getting closer to my goals. But it also feels silly to spend $2500 now when I could pay much less just by waiting.

Opinions? Thank you!
