30 Days Post-Op T3-L4 Spinal Fusion (3rd slide is the incision now!)

A full month post-op! I am doing SO well, and am incredibly grateful for my amazing surgeon. Before surgery I was in so much pain all the time and was miserable. I couldn’t walk for more than 20 minutes without pain, I couldn’t sit in one position for more than 10, and some days couldn’t get out of bed or breathe without pain. Even though my scoliosis may not have appeared bad, the pain caused by it was immense. I have now been off all prescription pain medications for almost 2 weeks and am only taking Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and a muscle relaxant.
Feel free to ask any questions!

Note: my back looks red and irritated because the steri strips were taken off just before this!

Looking for amiibo

Hello! I am a long time amiibo collector, however I stopped buying them a while back. I am looking to get back into collecting them and want all of the Splatoon series amiibos. I am missing the Squid Sisters (Alterna), Off the Hook (Side Order), and Deep Cut amiibos. Problem is I can’t seem to find them anywhere! They are $100+ (USD) most everywhere. I was wondering if anyone knows the best place to purchase them, which is likely eBay, or if someone happened to be selling theirs.

I will be preordering the Deep Cut (Raiders) amiibos soon as well so that I don’t have to scavenge for them later!

When can I use THC/CBD after spinal fusion?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows when I can begin using THC after surgery, or when you personally began using again. I am exactly 2 weeks post-op and doing really well! I do not smoke, I just use THC and CBD gummies. I have contacted my surgeon about this and haven’t received a reply, so I thought I’d ask others. Thanks for any responses!

I need reassurance about my upcoming surgery, I’m terrified!

Hello! I am 21F and getting spinal fusion in two days and I’m extremely nervous. I’m being fused from T2-L5, which is a massive amount (and nearly my entire spine), due to severe scoliosis that causes debilitating pain, migraines, and many other symptoms. I’ll be in the hospital for 7 days, which I’ve heard is longer than most. I’ve started having panic attacks the past few days from nerves and I haven’t been able to calm down. If anyone has anything reassuring to say please do. I need to hear that it’ll be okay from people who have actually gone through it, not from my family who hasn’t.

I also wanted to ask if there’s any advice anyone may have, what your recovery has looked like, or anything really (like what to bring to the hospital, best recovery position, how to stay positive, how to handle the pain, what you’ve found helps, what you wish you did differently, literally ANYTHING).

Thank you so much to anyone who can give advice or even just well wishes. I need any kind of reassurance I can get.

Looking for post-spinal fusion advice and encouragement before surgery

Hello! I am prepping for my spinal fusion surgery in less than a week! I’ll be fused from T2-L5, and will be in the hospital for a week. I wanted to hear other people’s experiences with spinal fusion! I would love to hear any advice you have, whether it be how to handle the pain, things to bring to the hospital, or what you've done to cope mentally and physically, or anything really! I also need some reassurance that everything will be okay, because to be honest I’m pretty terrified. This is going to be life changing, and I’m only 21 and scared of how it may affect my future. I have a few specific questions if anyone could answer them:

- What do you suggest I bring to the hospital?
- How long were you in bed/bed ridden before being able to get back to work/school/other “normal” activities?
- Any suggestions on positions to sleep in after surgery, whether immediately after or long-term?
- Are there any specific types of pillows or anything that you’ve found comfortable for recovering?

Thank you so much to anyone who can answer!

Hello! I have effectively solved (knock on wood) my carpet beetle problem and figured I’d share since I know others share my hatred for these little pests. The trick is diatomaceous earth! I sprinkled (and poured in their most active areas) it all over the carpet and after 3-4 days they were gone. I was told to vacuum it up after a few days but to be honest I just left it there until it gradually disappeared, with the exception of the area I poured it on. If you have pets make sure it is food grade and that they are not breathing it in as you apply it, but other than that it is pet safe! I have 4 cats and none of them were affected. I had them crawling on me in my sleep and I haven’t seen one in my bedroom in a month. Hopefully someone else finds this useful!
