Got My First Bike

Made a couple posts very recently about picking up a Sportster to learn on. Found a seller that lived in my immediate era that was letting go of this 2005 883R and I fell in love with it when I went look at it.

The sound is so incredible it made my heart jitter a little bit, and I felt something I havent felt in awhile. I haven't got to ride it yet, as I dont know how. The seller was super cool about riding it to my place for me, and gave me some advice and wisdom along the way. Super cool guy, lifelong rider, and offered to teach me some stuff in the parking lot pretty soon.

Tomorrow, I go and source some gear so I can start Fred Flintstoning it around my parking lot and get ready for the MSF. As much as I love it, I fear and respect it and know to take it slow and not exceed my limits.

I'm currently living in Phoenix, AZ and am quite nervous about learning here. I drive for a living and see absolute insanity and stupidity from the drivers here everyday. I feel like it's constantly getting worse. However, I'm moving back to rural Louisiana In December as I have a house out there, and cant wait to start hitting the wide open roads without the Phoenix congestion. A goal for me is to get comfortable enough to take it out to The Superstitions and make atleast one ride to see the mountains before I head back to the swamps.

Im gonna go back outside and stare it more with a drink in hand.

2005 883R Potential First Bike

EDIT: I bought her home a few hours ago!

Hey yall,

A couple weeks ago I made a post asking about a sportster for a complete newbie. A lot of comments said yes, but to be aware of high center of gravity, etc.

This bike is well within my price range and the seller lives on the same block as me and offered to drive it to my place if I purchase it. Its a sweet looking bike and I'd love to learn on something like this. Anything I should look out for?

Thank yall.

Love Using Mine for Urban Fishing

With the top down its too easy to transport rods. It was an ordeal to fit rods in 03 wrx and my 23 stang. You get some interesting looks riding around with the rods hanging out too lol. (Don't mind the funny gear please its 115f here in phoenix and that funny stuff helps keep me cool and from burning in the sun)

31M First Buzz Cut In Over a Decade

Im blessed to have good hair genes, and based on the men from both sides of my family, ill most likely never go bald or even lose most of my hair color. Ive usually always had medium length hair at least, and even had it down to the middle of my back when I grew it out in my mid teens. Honestly, I just kinda got curious of how id look with a super short buzz cut since Ive never had hair this short, usually a guard was on the clippers.

Not sure how I like the look, its drastically different. What I do know is that im in bed right now and the airflow on my head and ears feels incredible.

Plantaris X-Silver/Prizm Sapphire

Went to try a pair of Plantaris SQ but wound up getting these instead, im a sucker for the more round/oval designs. Also currently waiting on a pair of Bronze/Titanium Iridium Plates to arrive, can't wait to finally have a pair of those in hand.

Lunch with Family

I bought my 986 about 10 months ago, my girlfriend loved it and decided on a 987.1 Cayman S about 4 months ago, and her little brother decided on the 996 Targa today. Got some smiles and waves from other car enthusiasts and had a great time with people I love, not bad for a Thursday afternoon.

Gotta love unnecessary heatbreaks

My route is pretty much all bulk indoor stops. I maybe go to 7 actual buildings a day and deliver to 40-90 units door to door each. I was almost done with a 65 unit stop until I got hit with a heartbreak while im chilling in some ice cold ac.

$3 Goodwill Find

Keeping regardless of value, I love old Oakley stuff and given the CD player compartment and Nokia 3310 sized cell phone pocket id imagine this is an early 2000s backpack? Everything is in good shape on it and im giving it a cleaning right now, so excited to have this at a great price.

$10 FB Marketplace pickup

Feels right at home on my 98 rig. Haven't got to play The Sims 1 like this since 2005 when I was waiting for my birthday to upgrade my PC to be able to run The Sims 2.
