Recently redid a portion of an older 40k piece to make it better for gameplay

This pink work really bothered a number of players at my table. Anything from Knights to large based minis had to awkwardly be placed on top of it. I de-wormed the pool and tossed in some sand to make it flat. I’ll keep the worm for another project

Finished Warhammer 40k Terrain (2004 STC Colonial Habitat)

This is the 2nd piece to my new table. The only other plans for this piece is a final moot green leaf highlight. I've decided to make all the pieces have Chaos Icons. I'm happier with this piece than the first piece here I finished - today glued on the trees and took some quick outdoor iPhone photos / no proper lighting. More 3rd/4th edition style Warhammer 40,000 terrain to come!

WIP 2004 STC Colonial Habitat

Next up is a few signs/decals. Then the few trees, some tufts, some orange and brown dry pigments, and I need to paint the sandbag doodads that go with this piece.

I created a quarantine sub to redirect any AI posts over to r/AIterrainbuilding

Hey,

I created r/AIterrainbuilding to to redirect future AI posts. I can envision a future where miniature terrain AI edits are crossposted across a dozen subs regularly as AI is more and more pushed on us. I'll leave as r/AIterrainbuilding 's moderator in 2027.

-----------

r/TerrainBuilding will not update the rule against AI in 2027+

Quick Note: This photo was not edited by AI. It's and old photo from spring 2019~ and I put a picture of a sky and I put an Instagram filter on it.

Warhammer 40k Terrain: Jungle Hatch

I'm planning out an expansion to my current 40k board and this is a test piece for the other section of the table. It's supposed to be a LOS blocking L-rock that can block TLOS to a Land Raider. It has a small hatch and a terminal for an generic objective point.

Quick question related to the Boars

I’m on day 4 and they’re still here. Is this similar to the water lock in Disco where they’ll open the streets or do I have to pass a check?

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would help me a lot. I’ve been burning through the current area of the city and I can see the mama boar near the radio tower down south. Can’t seem to interact with that larger boar.

Leveling with Bul Kathos Set

I never had a chance to use them; leveling in Hell 66+ with these two bad boys. The chains of honor, highlords, and arreats supports the swords. I was using Mania in a Colossus/Lightsabre while leveling to 60s. Bul Kathos is a ton of fun. The wedding band should have been in the set

Arreat's Face = best looking helmet in any act

It's not bright like shako or vampiric gaze - it's just right

WIP Jungle Rock 40k Terrain

This is a tumbling project. I went from making a bright desert rock to hitting it with a number of washes to try and add some earth tones and greens. I then basedcoated the leaves green. I need to black line the recesses on the leaves and then highlight the leaves with a bright moot green / scorpion bright green.

The trees aren’t glued yet. Their layout might change. I’m happy with the current rock color. I’ll plan to follow this up with a heavy varnish, grass tufts, dry pigments, and finishing the details.

I plan to change the fence color, I don’t think red is working, even if I make it extremely bright. I was considering a neon light sky blue, a basic corroded brown orange, or make the fence white and grime effect it up.

The original Citadel Scenery tree kits for 3rd edition Warhammer 40k. The sprues say 1996. They have grey versions and these bright green versions of the sprues. Minimal flash, great kit easy to build kit. I saw there are a number of ways to build these and I made some mistakes on the direction of the brown pieces but once these are painted up it should look fine.

My next step is to make this look less desert and more “wasteland jungle” where I’ll keep some of the orange red brown tones.
