You can ask Malen about what's happening around town, but it's always to early, or a sold out show. Is there a point in the game where she gives a different answer?

I really liked this game and I haven't browsed this sub extensively, so apologies if this is a repeat topic.

I haven't played all the endings and combinations of options but it looks like in order to actually assassinate the grand lich you need to:

1. Strong arm ESTOC by threatening her husband in order to setup the meeting with KALIDESCOPE
2. Agree to KALIDESCOPE's plan and use UV as a bargaining chip against her will
3. Shoot who you probably believe at the time to be Poor Dante and not honor on your deal

If so, then the only way to actually complete the mission is to be kind of a ruthless asshole, which I think is quite cool.

Is that right or is there another way to do it if you make different choices?

My problem is mostly that it could have been great, since the first two acts were.

Felt like a lot of fumbling without an orgasm. Erased a lot of meaning of the game. Wasted potential.

After searching for info on this for an hour or so and coming up blank, I now turn to reddit with this question. I managed to get myself softlocked in Disco already and am terrified of it having happened again.

About 18 hours in, I talked to the technician at the bazaar for the first time. He told me to go check out the terminal on the roof. I took the pelota ball out of the door earlier, so I had no way in - I interacted with the door when the technician wasn't there, he still told me to go look for a maintenance tunnel to get in (worried that him talking to me out of nowhere might've caused an issue).

I have no idea where that tunnel is supposed to be, I've looked around the entire area and beyond that like an idiot to no avail. Could anyone direct me towards it? Do I even NEED to access this terminal to proceed or is there another way to progress (I still have some loose ends to pursue)?

My last real save was ages ago, so I can’t load that back. Am I just screwed? Is there really no way to delay anything? I tried to still do the >!photo!< quest but I don’t see anything in that spot, so I think the game is locked in

Pleeeeease if anyone knows any way around this let me know. Even if I have to cheese things, whatever lets me keep this run but lets me get the rest of the quests done. Thank youuuu

I was able to get the discount on the high-end suit, but I didn't get the actual suit. All I got was a discount on a couple of items in his shop. Is there supposed to be an actual high-end suit, or is it just a combination of the stuff he already sells you?

I’m still early-mid game so please no spoilers.

I’m playing on steam deck with a controller so this might be a controller issue, but I can’t for the life of me equip anything in the left hand slot. How to do it?
(afraid of posting pics since i don’t want to spoil story items for others who are like me still early game).

At the shrine you can interact with Weeping Eye operants. The beetle battle allows you to set up the guy getting stabbed in the eye in the final shootout, but does anyone know if provoking the woman operant gets you anything? I managed to pass the red check in the conversation with her and piss her off, but during the tram fight she was just shot by, in my playthrough, HOLOCENE.

I'm trying to do the white check in Palace of Culture "Tune in to the building's frequency". When I first entered and searched around, I noticed that it was becoming easier and easier, since exploring the building made the modifiers go up.

Something happened however that made all modifiers disappear, except +1 Vibe with it and -1 Met Petre. Now it's much harder to pass the check, with only 2% of succeding.

Is this a known bug?

got this object in a recent playthrough and have no idea what its purpose is. do we use it with someone specific?

Gary Oldman’s character is the washed up spymaster in charge of Slough House, the place MI5 sends their outcasts, rejects and losers that they can’t justify or be bothered to fire. It’s excellent, tense, very funny and feels very similar to the Whole Sick Crew. I can’t get enough

Played disco Elysium for the writing, and am primarily interested in this game for the writing. I thought disco elysium was the best written game I've ever played.

Of course, answers here will be skewed towards appreciating zero parades' writing, but I'm assuming a large portion of people here enjoyed Disco Elysium too, and unlike the Disco Elysium sub where there is a fat chance of unapologetically putting this game down and general gaming subs who don't really have the same targeted audience I'm trying to consult, this seems like a good place to ask.

So, how is the writing from a literary standpoint?

To give you an idea of what I'm looking for, I really liked the depth of the themes and the myriad of themes and ideas ranging from the occult to the politics that Disco Elysium touched upon. I liked the nuance in Harry's character regarding several aspects that you could explore, and enjoyed how the politics and concepts the game touched on apart from the main character weren't just cookie cutter representations of concepts like communism and authoritarianism that you see portrayed in modern media in a clean cut good or bad view. I also enjoyed how the characters and different random things seemed to connect with each other thematically or literally.

However, I did not like the pretentiousness at times, and the consequent one dimensionality I felt at times. I didn't like how the political ideology you built for Harry was largely one dimensional, like it's either you go full in on communism, ultraliberalism, royalist, etc or you become a flat out ridiculed centrist if you picked nuanced choices. Seemed the authors took the easy way out and didn't allow for nuance.

I also did not like the vagueness and lack of optional exploration of the world and how it left things largely abstract.

And lastly I felt the macro of the story and events and in some facets the world was extremely lacking. Like, extremely lacking. It could've been far more tighter while touching up on similarly high level concepts. The game format quite literally allowed them to get away with this.
