Tested Manticore: Tactical Combat with a vanilla save

Just to let you know, this is from the author who created 'skeleton key' - a great qol mod, and popular fuel balance mods. So I had pretty high expectation.

There was only one option to tweak, something about the health scaling, and the default was 'tactical'. I really wanted to try 'death wish' but it crashed my game immidiately with weird heartbeating sounds and camera spinning out of control. Since the change makes an auto-save, it indefinitely loaded the same new save and crashed again. So I sticked to the default 'tactical'.

One of the things I noticed was the skill tree changes. They are mostly in the combat tree. My character is very high level (over 200), so I didn't have to consider which one to level up. They all seemed like some balance changes. Low level players might feel the changes in bonuses more, but not me.

The other thing I noticed was my weapon damage. With all perks and bonuses, it was over 10,000 before (I'm a sniper using the resonator rifle). Now it was around 1,000. Nevertheless, the enemies seemed to die with one-hit (health scaling?). I think this mod probably have more impact for low level players, but not for me. With the damage numbers hidden, I couldn't tell much differences.

The silent covenant - my review

Fyi, I would have removed this mod even if it were a free mod, but I did remove it after the fourth assignment.

Now imagine you're doing 'HIRED GUN' radiant quest in anchorpoint. The difference is that it is a paid mod.

Something tells me this mod has other options than eliminating the targets, but I didn't bother, because of its lacking pretty much basic details.

- As far as I remember, all dialogues happen very abruptly out of nowhere and forced. You listen to what npc characters have to say and the dialogues just end.

- The chest that we have to put in 'note' items every time we return have no form filter, so you're presented with all kinds of items, and scroll through every note you got in your inventory to find the note to put in the chest. It could have been the same as ryujin questline in the vanilla game, but no. It could have been an invisible trigger box or an activator to remove the note from your inventory, but no. There is no such thing.

- When you claim the reward, you approach to a small safe, and you see a chest interface (take or put in). But it is for claming credits! There is no credits inside. But when you open the chest, the inventory interface pops up, then a notification appears "(xxx) credits added". Likewise, it could have been an invisible trigger box or an activator like hundreds thousands of cases in the vanilla game, but no. Not in this mod. You open up an empty inventory to receive the credits.

- You read the slate, kill the target civilian npc, return to the base to put the slate in the chest, and claim the credits by opening up an empty safe. Repeat.

By the time the mod ask me to do the fourth one, I removed the mod.

I have no idea what other strong suits the modder got into the bethesda vc, but I'm pretty disappointed for this one.

The zone79 headhunter - my impressions

First off, I would say this is a very cool quality gear mod.

If you like zone79 aesthetics, this is great.

It includes a questline and locations but that shouldn't concern you much imo.

This is exactly the same case with VIGILANCE mod "for me". The gear is cool of course, the other things not so very much.

Some of the things I disliked in the HEADHUNTER:

- The quest objectives feel rubbish and unimaginative. They just float in the mid-air, and expect us to search, kill, and find clues ourselves. And it repeats in this way.

- New locations I visited for the questline are laggy and occassionally freezing. I have no problem in other areas (144+ fps). Also they seemed to have problems with navmesh or ai packages especially in large outside areas. Some of enemies were just standing still even when I approach like zombies, don't care if their allies die, or spinning around at place trying to find ways.

- And when I finally arrived at the spacestation, there was a creature pet and some robots hanging around.

I'm sorry to tell you but this pet felt like a ripoff from XENO MASTER. It could be just me, but the dialogue interface looked too similar. You know the lines they say in xeno master, "look at you but does not know intention" that sort of thing? But with no voice?

Among the robots, there was a robot vendor using the vanilla generic voice. But that doesn't even include all voice lines. So, when you choose the dialogue option to vend, it doesn't speak the affirmation line. It just stands there for few seconds and suddenly the vendor inventory pops up.

In short, I think the assets used are in great pro quality, but not the other content.

So the ryujin stealth spacesuit has a secret effect?

What else is hidden? I can't find no other armors in dlc have any secret effect in creation kit.

Each piece provides 10% stealth, adding up to 30% for full suit.

In total, 5% higher than the cloth version. (operative suit)

With the cloth on (25%), you get 55% stealth effect.

I think they didn't want it to be re-rolled. That's probably the reason?

That's kind of unique.

But not the all-in-one type bloated ones. I just want to use vibevoice.

It used to work fine, but it just stopped working.

If anyone knows a good git repo, please let me know.

(1) spacesuit skin

In AVMS, I clicked armor appearanace setup, and picked the ones I want, set my dds textures, edited cobj, kwyd, mod, they are working fine. But I found out, they don't look like custom ones in the workbench. The preview is the same as default skin.

I googled about it, and found out I need something called _GO and _M in AVMS, but they don't have one in mine. How do I create those?

(2) terran armada .mat

In ba2 file, materials directory only have a file called 'materialsbeta' and I couldn't find any way to use it. Something changed in dlc?
