Hi all, my dad's 2025 VW Taos' tire was slashed from a piece of metal on the road.
I am trying to figure out if I should replace all 4 tires as some people advise, or just the one as others do.
The current tire is Goodyear Assurance Finesse 215/55/18R, which brand new comes at 7.1mm.
The car has 30k kms in it, and below are the current tire treads:
- FL: 5.9mm
- FR: 6.0mm
- RL: 6.4mm
So based on those, should I do one since the depth falls below the 1.6mm mark (2/32") or do you recommend all 4 be changed since it may damage the differential?

2011 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L Manual Transmission.
I bought a new flex pipe repair kit from Muffler Express (screenshot attached), I would like help on finding a solution without welding since I'm doing this in my driveway.
Issue is that the repair pipe is one inch shorter, so those grooves on it will not be sealed when I cut the old one and place this on top.
So I thought maybe I need to extend the pipe a little bit, therefore bought different extensions but not sure which one to use and which way should go on the inside and which way on the outside, and is welding an absolute requirement or can I use clamps. If welding is a requirement then I'll just pay a mechanic shop to weld for me.
Some dimensions:
Repair pipe as it stands right now is 2inches
The current exhaust where I would cut it is 2.15 inches.
How would you solve this? Any help or advice from all you experts is greatly appreciated!!
