Grinding the work week away. It’s Friday and meetings are done for the day…time to finally wind down and get into weekend mode.
Some creamy corn/bacon/chicken pasta deliciousness (I’ll link the recipe in the comments lol learned my lesson).
Jarritos sour gummies for lunch dessert.
Wishing you all an amazing Friday. 🌬️🫴🏼🍃
Chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake.
This is my go to, any time my mom offers to make a dessert (it’s been over 20 years lmao). It’s easy to make and it’s not a crazy thing compared to what else my mom can whip together. But idk, childhood memories I suppose lol This will always be it. Helps that I’m also a sucker for cookie dough anything.
🍃 Old Dirty Biker, a personal favorite of mine.

Edit: My bad, fam lol recipe dropped.
-2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
-1 cup white sugar
-2 eggs
-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-2 (18 ounce) packages chocolate chip cookie dough
Preheat to 350°F (170°C). Mix cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla together in a bowl until smooth. Spread 1 roll of cookie dough on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan, makes the base. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on top. Drop small pieces of the remaining cookie dough on the cream cheese mixture. Bake until cream cheese mixture is set and cookies on top are golden brown, 30 to 45 minutes.
Still not my full self post-surgery, her little treats like this spoil the shit out of me lol
Coconut jasmine rice, mango, coconut milk goodness. Idk, it’s bomb though.

Lamb tender kebab & basmati/saffron rice & hummus.
Post 1, and post 2, this post ends the trilogy lol
Well. It’s done. The hysterectomy happened yesterday morning. Let me start off by saying I don’t think there was one doctor who didn’t mention the fandango with insurance when they first came to see me lol It definitely helped break the ice every time someone came to talk to me.
Off the rip, the nurses were amazing. My surgery was done in a training hospital so I kept meeting new people every few minutes before going under and honestly it was great. Felt like I had my own little village with me. One nurse told me he loved my energy, another asked what my drink of choice was to pretend for the nerve blocker. All silly things but it was nice energy before surgery.
Once in the OR, I got to pick my playlist. I told them let’s have a party in there so we put on some EDM/Bad Bunny mix. We were all vibin’ lol I had 2 ladies performing the surgery - my gyno and another doctor from the practice who works closely with her. Both of these women made me feel so so so comfortable. Bless their souls. As they gave me the anesthesia, one doctor held my hand and the other was rubbing my arm. Idk what it was, but having both of these women hold me and ensure that I was a comfortable as possible going under for THIS type of surgery…if I wasn’t so high on hospital drugs, I probably would have started crying lmao
Recovery so far hasn’t been bad at all. The surgical site feels completely normal, zero pain (so far). No bleeding. All of my pain and discomfort is from the air they puffed me up with to see in my abdomen. Ladies. I just want to fart the biggest fart. I cannot explain these shooting pains that do not go away. It’s honestly the worst part but I’m told it should last about 48 hours so hopefully I’m deflated by tomorrow. I feel like an animal balloon lol
The bits went off to pathology. I did get my pictures, those were wild to see. Not sure on exact dimensions yet, but all said and done…the clinical notes from surgery said that my uterus was a “12 week size”. All the fibroids and cysts essentially made my uterus the size one would be if 3 months pregnant. A grapefruit, instead of what should be a small pear. Wild.
It has been a hell of a ride, a few years in the making and of course it had to end on such a dramatic note. This has riled up a side of me that has made me so angry about female healthcare in the US. I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I would like to eventually start a foundation or some type of fundraiser to bring more awareness to female reproductive healthcare. We shall see.
Take care of yourselves, ladies. Do not let doctors or insurance companies push you around. Find your tribe and fight. You are your best advocate, only YOU know how you feel and what is right for you.
🤙🏼🫶🏼
An overly sweet muffin (delicious though) and an iced coffee, that I’m trying to choke down.
I don’t even know where to start. I’m pissed off. I’m sad. I’m angry. I’m a lot of things. But mostly, I’m a female in the US and it fucking suuucks when it comes to our healthcare lol
Let me paint the picture:
I’m 35 and my periods are getting worse. To the point that my cramps make me so nauseous, I end up vomiting. I am now considered “dangerously” anemic because of how much blood I lose at a time. I go from biking 8 miles in a day, to bedridden for 3 when I get my period. Then still bleeding for another 5-7 lol I fill up a menstrual cup in less than an hour. One time, I bled for literally 5 months straight. No dramatics. 5. Fucking. Months. I’ve tried different birth controls, didn’t help. I’ve started to continue to bleed heavy even with taking tranamexic acid. I’ve had 2 surgeries already to remove fibroids and cysts. They can’t get them all out lol I’m like a fish filled with roe. Or at least that’s how I feel.
I’m done. I told the doctors that I don’t want to keep going in for tune-ups every 2-3 years. I needed a permanent solution and that meant a total hysterectomy.
I thought we were there. The surgery is scheduled for this week, literal days from now. It has been for 3 weeks now. I’ve taken all the tests, scrapings, bloodwork, prior surgeries, everything to get here. Dealt with people asking “Are you sure you want to do this?” and those fun conversations. Just to now be told that insurance is of fucking course trying to push back on the approval now. There is a very big chance that I wake up the morning of my surgery date just to be told that I won’t be having it (yet, at least).
This is some shit. The case is there. It’s plainly laid out everything all that I have done to get to this point. I’ve already put $1000 towards the surgery. I’ve already gotten the bill for a couple more thousand dollars to fucking pay. I WANT TO DO THIS AND YET SOME PERSON AT A DESK HAS THE ABILITY TO SAY “Ehhh nah, not yet.”
I am feeling so many things. I’m sitting at my desk at work choking down tears because of course on top of dealing with this, I am hosting about 10 executive leaders in the office this week too lmao
I’ve been mentally preparing for this surgery. The recovery that is absolutely going to suck. The permanent decisions that come with this procedure. I’ve prepped the house so that my girlfriend has minimal things to do for upkeep, while I can’t move. And for what? For someone else who does not live in this body to be able to have the final say?
I am beyond coherent thoughts and sentences, at this point. This shit is infuriating. Viva America, am I right?
/End scene.
Quick pick up from the local Hispanic joint.
Piping hot mangu and red onions. Been a minute since I’ve had some, fucking deliciousss.
🍃 Greasy Runtz in the Carta 2.
Got blasted after all my meetings for the day. Really wanted a grilled cheese but there were mashed potatoes also staring at me…
So I made what I will call a croquette sandwich lmao Grilled cheese with mashed potatoes in the middle.
I honestly regret nothing lol This hit.
Picked up Krispy Kreme on the way out of the casino last night.
On the porch with the girlfriend catching the morning sun, and the birds at the feeders. Love watching the town wake up and start the day. Little bit of an appetizer before real Sunday breakfast. On deck for today is croissant French toast and scrambled eggs. I’ve been on my bullshit this weekend lol

She threw together a cute little shark coochie board.
Ribs mustard and dry rub, to start. That’s a pre-cook picture lol I couldn’t wait for them to be ready to make a whole post. Slow and low, can’t rush it. Slathered the ribs with sauce, to finish up another hour in the oven to get a glaze.
Smoking on the porch, watching the animals at all the feeders. This is what I live for.

Edit: Moneyshot of the ribs. 🤙🏼
Date night with wifey. Moe’s outside on the porch, beautiful weather.

Hey all - odd request and I understand my situation is “uncommon” lol But the internet has answered stranger questions.
Backstory for context: Last summer I almost completely severed my left ulnar nerve. I had surgery but seeing as it was a nerve (and being 35 is considered old for this injury lmao), I will never fully heal back to “normal”. My grip strength on my left hand is half of what it was, my ring finger is half numb, my pinky is totally numb. The left side of my hand is essentially non feeling lol
Okay so. Riding has not been an issue for me. I can pull the clutch no issue, I turn no issue, it’s just a little different now in regards to what I can feel. At most, I’m just not a fan of certain shaped handlebars and that’s it.
My issue: I have noticed lately that my left thumb has started to go numb during riding and I think my gloves are pushing a weird pressure point now. I have the sedici lucca and I’ve have enjoyed them up until this started. I don’t know if it’s the shape of the gloves or my grip is doing something weird. Has anyone had a similar experience with gloves putting odd pressure on the outside of your thumb? Is it possible that some gloves have a little more “give” around the thumb?
Open to all types of suggestions. Not against buying a pair and trying them for a long ride, I just feel bad for returning some items if I don’t like them. But that’s a personal problem.
Thank you, sorry holy crap this was longer than I anticipated.
Got my time in with my dad this morning, had some banging eggs & gyro at a diner. Now some porch time with wifey and catch up on some World Cup matches.
Sprite Chill - Mango citrus.

Carb-loaded and infused dinner date with my girl, in the screen-in porch during a thunderstorm. Days like this make me happy to think that young me would be proud of how older me ended up.
We didn’t make the pasta ourselves lol
Tomato & burrata ravioli cooked in homemade infused butter & Italian herbs.
Cheese stuffed rigatoni.
Rotisserie chicken & Stubb’s Sticky Sweet BBQ sauce.
Date night with the girlfriend, dinner on the porch tonight. Picture before I smothered it in some white sauce. IYKYK. Some Turkish sparkling pear drink on the side, delicious.

🍃 Aliens mints.
I’m sorry, I just can’t contain my excitement and I just need to get it out there.
I posted here yesterday, if anyone wants the “backstory”. TLDR: my periods suck and nothing is helping, it’s making me uber depressed.
Today was the day of my appointment. My doctor walks in, “I’m sorry you’re back so soon!” and then it begun. We discussed what’s happened so far and what my go forward options are. We discussed birth controls, but each time we try a new one it’s at least 3 months of taking the pills before we know if they even do anything. I could keep taking the TRX when I get my periods and hope that calms down the bleeding, but that’s proven to not help much either. There’s a procedure to burn my uterine lining in hopes that it won’t be able to bleed again, but that’s assuming enough is burned - it’s a crapshoot, NOPE. They can essentially clog my arteries with a “foam” near my uterus to bleed less, hard pass. I could get the IUD, but it’s something that I personally don’t want in my body so that was also a no.
We paused going through all the options and she checked in on me, “thoughts so far, what’s going through your head?” I dropped the H bomb and we discussed it further. She agrees that continuing to test all these different solutions is time consuming and I’ve already been going at it for 3+ years, 2 surgeries, several different medications. It’s a revolving door of “I hope this works” and then bleeding out for 10 days.
SHE IS PUTTING IN THE SURGERY REQUEST WITH HER SCHEDULERS, BABYYY!
Now it’ll be a game of back and forth with insurance. Maybe it won’t be, but I’m not holding my breath. But I don’t care, we’re moving forward! This is progress and I couldn’t be happier. Maybe I’ll be on the surgery table next week, maybe next year - but my doctor knows what I want, agrees, and is helping me fight. We went over all the case notes from beginning to end to make sure everything is detailed. I couldn’t be make excited. I cried on my way home lmao
It’s a big surgery and I know it can’t be undone, but I’m at peace with this decision. My mental well-being is so much more important to me than being able to birth my own child one day. I can always adopt or do surrogate if it came down to it, at least I’ll be alive and happy as opposed to whatever these emotions that I’m feeling now are.
So that’s it, the ball is rolling! Thank you for those who reached out yesterday with kind words or their own experiences. You are all in my thoughts, I know what we all are going through and it’s not fucking fun. Keep fighting, don’t give up until you have found that doctor who listens and will advocate for you!
Side note: anyone know if they’ll toss my uterus in a mason jar for me to keep, post surgery? I’d love to put it in my horror themed video game room in my house lmao
