Are you still able to enjoy the scenery in a foward position?

I ordered a 2026 Crux 4 expert. I'm coming off of a trek 6500 slr mountain bike I've used for 15 years. I like how light the crux is. Since I'm getting old, I need something that's easier to ride in the Texas heat and up the hills. I liked the way the crux felt and how I could speed in it.

I mainly ride in the park on pavement. But I got a gravel bike so I can always have the option for dirt trails.

One thing that concerns me though... When I ride my mountain bike I do like how I can sit up right and look around as I ride. I like to enjoy watching the trees and greenery go by in the park as I ride. Not when going uphill, but usually when going downhill or coasting. I'm worried with this new more forward position that I won't be able to do that.

I probably should have test road a diverge since I read they were more upright. But the extra 2 lb weight and the shock in the front kind of turned me off. I guess with all the money I'm spending I'm scared that I may get the wrong bike but I will never know until I have it for a month or so.

Maybe it's a silly question... But is anyone else with Crux or similar forward positioning able to enjoy the scenery around them while riding? Or is it all forward tunnel vision with that sport forward position?

My Review and Experience with the Eversolo A10

Here is my review of the Eversolo A10. I bought it used from the elderly person who bought it brand new and only had it about 3 months. He was selling it to do a vacation with his grand daughter.

Pros:

  • Sounds good
  • Looks good
  • Good remote

Cons:

  • The power supply went out in it about 3 months after I had it. I had to send it to Eversolo to get fixed (In America distribution center). This is where they verified the age of it only being about 6 months old. I was honest and told them I bought it used so they charged me to fix it. It costed me $300.00 to ship (to their American distrubuter) and about $170.00 to fix.
  • I got the unit back with the PSU repaired. About 5 months later, the screen is now going out on me. After verifying/confirming with Eversolo it is the screen going out, I need to send it back again.  I have been holding off on sending because I just don't have the stomach for the trouble and money required. It's still usable but I will often have to reboot when the screen glitches. It does ghost touches on it so sometimes it will turn on the audio config/dsp by itself which is starting to make it hard to use.
  • The replay gain in the software is no longer working. On mixes, one song plays a certain level, the next could play 3 times as loud. I am scared of damaging my speakers. It is so bad that I stopped using the internal player and now I just use it on bluetooth with the native Android Tidal app on my cellphone. The native Android Tidal app does not have the broken replay gain issue. But it stinks because the audio quality is not as good on blue tooth. But it is not worth damaging my speakers.

Would I ever buy Eversolo again? No way. Heck no.

Thinking about pulling the trigger and buying the Crux 4- any thoughts?

I've been looking at the Crux 4 2026 dri for a while now. Pretty much thinking about pulling the trigger and buying it. I'm between 5'9 and 5'10 ft and my inseam is 32 in. I think I'm going to get the 54 cm size. I feel like I might lean over a little bit much forward on it, but on the 56 cm feel like the top bar came a little too high to my pelvis.

Any thoughts before I pull the trigger?

Is SRAM wireless supposed to be slower than DRI2?

I test road a couple of 2026 specialized crux 4 bikes. One had the Shimano DR i2 and the other had the SRAM wireless (Don't know exact model).

I noticed that the SRAM wireless was slower when downshifting compared to the DRI2. It was enough to bother me. Is the SRAM wireless typically slower than the DRI2? Or was it just not adjusted right?

Crux 5 Geometry - Do you like the new way where the back tire bar does not meet the top tube?

Coming from a 2005 Trek 6700 SLR bike, I am interested in the 2027 Crux 5 Comp Bike. I noticed that the back bar where the tire is.... it does not meet/go up to where the top bar is. Instead... it attaches lower on the seat tube. I was wondering for those who have tried both geometries... do you like it better where the tire bar went to the top tube bar or do you like the new geometery better?

Should the A329 (w hk6) be able to power on when car is off? With parking disabled

I had the VIFO A329S installed with the HK6 wirekit at the car audio shop. I have the parking mode disabled right now. I was able to power on the device manually with the car off and key out of the ignition. Am I supposed to be able to power on the device when the car is off? Or is it wired incorrectly?

Trek FX 4 vs Giant FastRoad AR Advanced 2 - Flex Frame Not As Responsive?

I am deciding between a Trek FX sport 4 or a Giant FastRoad AR Advanced 2. AI said that the Trek FX sport is optimized for instant acceleration and a highly responsive, energetic chassis.

It said the Giant is more geared to a cushion ride. It utilizes mechanical frame flex to isolate your body from bumps.

When I usually ride in the park on paved trails on my Trek 6500 with Shimano XT. I switch gears alot... like when I go downhill or uphill I will switch every 3 seconds back and forth on the gears to gain more momentum. So I like quick feed back.

The Giant FastRoad AR Advanced 2 looks nice. But is it true that the flex in the frame will make it a little less responsive? And will the flex frame also soak up some energy when peddling uphill? At least when compared to the Trek?

Will this lighter gravel bike help significanlty to ride easier when July/Aug comes? Switching from my heavy Mountain Bike

I have a 2005 Trek 6500 SLR. I wieghed it and it is 38 pounds. I ride it in the park near my house. I only use the paved trails even though it is a mountain bike. I love off road dirt trails but I am always worried about homeless people because they camp out there. And in Texas around 100 degrees, the trails don't get disturbed as much so I worry about snakes.

As summer comes and Texas gets into the upper 90s, it's going to be harder for me to ride now that I am getting old. I was thinking about getting a Trek FX 4 Sport gravel bike which is supposed to be only 23 lbs. My goal is to make it where it is easier to ride when it gets that hot. My question is... will I notice a significant difference in the weight drop when riding on the FX 4? Will it help a lot so I can keep riding in July/Aug heat?

This is my beloved Trek 6500. I don't like the geometry of the new school bikes. But I would like to have the new school 1x 12 gear system. Where the front only has chain rain and the back has the 12 gears. Is it possible to put one of those on this bike?

Is this roof frame ok?

Previous tenants did work on it placing metal poles to lift it.

Hey, I just got a turntable. One of my favorite albums is that is what love songs sometimes do. I see that there's a limited edition see through blue vinyl still available. But I feel like I went the white vinyl instead because it reminds me of the good old days with the figdish CD I had which had the white inlay.

What are y'all's thoughts?
