I’m finally starting to get a hang of drawing the heel out on an integral bolster chef knife. I know it’s still super chunky but I’m going to be doing a fair amount of grinding still before heat treat. Pretty happy with where it’s going though.
Part one of the set is glued up! Not perfect but still better than I expected for the pattern to turn out. Handle is Bastogne Walnut, steels are 80CrV2, 15N20, and Pops Procut.
Just hardened and reground this set to 120 grit. Camp knife and skinner set. Call this mosaic pattern “Roots” 80 CrV2, 15N20, and Pops Procut in the pattern. Really excited to get these done and off for leather. My good friend has an awesome double sheath planned for them.
Just finished this custom engraved Fenris for a client who graduated wildland firefighter training. 80CrV2 with rust blue finish, vintage micarta handle. Hope it serves him well!
“Reverse” Merovingian twist seax/santoku or seaxtoku is all finished up and pretty. 80CrV2, Pop’s Procut, and 15N20 with a copper, Tasmanian Blackwood, and ancient bog oak handle. Let me know if you think it’s more of a kitchen knife or a seax!
Just finished up this little go mai hunter. Core is Apex ultra, nickel shims, and Pop’s Procut/80CrV2 twist cladding. Handle is wenge with brass guard.
A few more pendants from the cutoffs of mosaic at various stages in the process. These are super fun to make and I hate wasting good steel, so, win win!
After about two years of starting, my first berserker is finally done. I decided I wanted to paint him all the way up from start to finish so that I had a Skeem in mind and a goal for all of my others. Now there’s only 59 more to go.

Got a small knife from the ferry flip and will have likely 3 pendants total from the cutoffs and tiles that didn’t weld. Came out gorgeous in any case. 1095 and 15N20
Gorgon flower mosaic small utility knife and go-mai hunter with apex ultra core, nickel, and 80CrV2/Pops Pro Cut twist. Finish sanding the hunter and the utility is ready for heat treat.
Got this little gorgon flower billet done today. The last forge weld didn’t go my way 100% so it likely will fail on a ferry flip, but it’s still pretty!

Almost ready for HT on this bearded axe. Body is 1045, but is 80CrV2 and 15N20 twist. The edge and the poll will both be hardened. Forge weld is solid, which is all I can ask for! Thanks for looking!

Here she is. Chasing some delams on the one bevel changed the pattern so it’s not symmetrical anymore, didn’t want to lose anymore thickness to even the pattern up.

I have another billet that is similar but a reverse Merovingian twist I guess. The high layer part is in the core of the billet rather than the solid layer. We’ll see how it turns out.
