Should I expect further refinements to my Big Y results?
Early this morning I received an email saying that my Big Y results are ready. For reference, my sample was batched on March 16 (batch 1702) as an upgrade from Y-37. The Y-111 results were completed on March 29.
My terminal haplogroup is currently J-BY205727, which seems to be a relatively small branch (FTDNA currently shows only a few known descendants and an estimated TMRCA around 350 BCE).
Since I just received the results, I’m wondering whether these are likely to be the final results or if I should expect further refinements over the next few weeks/months (e.g., new subclades from private variants, branch splits, age estimate updates, etc.).
