I adopted a cat from a family who couldn’t keep him about 6 months ago. he’s not skittish and he doesn’t hiss or run. however he never cuddles or seems to want to get close to me. he’s always sitting on the floor looking at me or on the other couch across from me. the closest i’ve ever gotten him was when i picked him up and held him in bed for a bit and he fell asleep there for a while. he’s willingly gotten on my lap one time since but never again. i really want him to love me … what should i do?
