Summerlicious 2026 @ Ayla

Went to Ayla (Dundas West) for Summerlicius 2026.

I honestly feel this place is slept on - great atmosphere, staff was excellent, close to transit. The meal was 8.5 /10 .

We ordered the following.

  1. chrysanthemum Caesar - My friend enjoyed it , and so did I. I did feel this was quite unami for my taste, but it helped balanced the next dish we had.

  2. Duck rice toast - it tasted like roasted pig with the hoisin sauce, it was delicious, I can take like 10 of these, because it was like bite-sized.

  3. Drinks - The Last Emperor and Lychee Rose , $$ , worth it, you can taste strong alcohol in these.

  4. Prawn Okonomiyaki -was on their A La Carte menu, so glad we ordered this - the crunch, the stuffing , the sauce and flakes completes me :)

  5. Sablefish - melts in my mouth , marinated for 48 hours I believe.

  6. Char Siu - so soft and yummy, I don't know how they made it not super chewy .

Overall, it was a nice date and experience. Top notch to the serves that made it extra enjoyable. Shareable dishes tbh.

Where to start for 6 year old

Posting for a friend -

Hello everyone,

a friend's son has a huge interest in trains since he was 3. He is now 6.

He loves details about trains, conductors, type of trains, engines, and down to the passenger that take trains. He loves train museums, taking subway/metro, express trains etc -- Right now he's into Brio trains, but wanted to get more serious into model trains.

For a small child with curiosity and excitement, where do they go from there and build his interest? Where can they step up to electric/motorized trains that won't necessary break the bank and start slow?

TIA

Gift for second baby - upper management-ish

Hello,

I support a doctor who just had their second baby. This is not my boss or my manager, but a doctor I support administratively for the past 1.5 years. Not close, but still want to get the family something - any recommendations?

TIA

Work Clothes - size 16-18

Hi everyone,

38F, 5'5, 200-215 lbs

I'm from Canada and I'm having a hard time looking for good office work clothes that looks nice comfortable and won't break the bank . I have an apron belly and I'm between sizes 16, 18, and sometimes 20 depending on the brand for pants. I find XL a little snug, XXL or 1x to be a little loose, so I'm going through a phrase of unsure. I shop at winners, old navy , H&M (sometimes) , I find material for Torrid to be not that great. Abercrombie and Anthropologie when its on sale.

I want to purchase items online, but I like to try on clothes before buying. I am open to store and online (good return policy). Especially for summer too, any good office shorts for woman?

TIA
