I guess this could also be construed as "what is the general consensus of average fucks a year according to most people" but I thought of it and I'm stoned so idc.

Imagine a purely modular programming language named OmniLang. Or Orlang. Or O. Idk that's not important. And yes this would be a decades long project, but O is like nixOS; fundamentally declarative. The language it self is just a config file, you can specificy things like syntax, typing preferences, spacing, even logic etc. Everything would be an import. OmniLang it itself is just a shell, everything is an import. Either at the top of the code of or the new-lang.comfig or whatever.

Could be anything like:

o.import <pythonlib1>

Or

import "ruby-syntax"

Or maybe even

OlangInstance.Import[LUA_TABLES].rightnow

Ok that last part was a joke but you get what I mean right it's still an im progress crazy high idea (I feel like I'm in frutier aero and my body is bubbles floating freely over the frolicking flocks of feisty ferrets fishing ferociously)

And way in the future this is just a pipe dream (I wonder the etymology of that idiom) but people could rewrite popular programming languages like Kotlin (my underrated goated. One of the best languages of the last decade. Superb.) Or GO or something to O and then when you imported that instance you could make it your own and tweak or add/remove things you don't like of want. It could be as fast as rust or as slow as ruby (and as good looking)

And there could be a huge community repo!

A large website where people can put bundles or imports for different categories, like you could download a bundle someone submitted of a language to introduce you to and help you learn programming and it could come with an interactivity script or something. Anyone could make a theme or a language or tweak or bundle of stuff (maybe like a web development kit) (I quite like that word 'kit') which could contain a framework with performance tweaks, some plug-ins, QoL changes, or a complete language. Even a theme. And the best lart is they would just be a bit of commands. To download or import from the site.
