Can a trainee psychologist diagnose someone with a mental condition? (+ my current issues with mental health treatment under govt)

TL;DR I'm only able to afford treatment from trainee psychologists at the moment. I'd like to know if they're allowed to do diagnosis (with supervision from a registered psychologist)?

Context is below:
- I'm diagnosed with severe depression from a psychiatrist at a government hospital since young, and I'm still getting treatment from their, albeit slowly (every 2 months).
- The govt psychiatrist I visited claimed to have registered me with a psychologist and counsellor at a nearby MENTARI and klinik kesihatan respectively, so I can get an assessment for other mental conditions and talk therapy. He told me to call them to ask.
- I've been calling them over the past 6 months, and they tell me to keep waiting because their waiting list is full, and that they'll contact me over WhatsApp if I receive a slot.
- I'm hopeless about waiting any longer for government treatment, but I'm broke. I've decided that I want to try private trainee psychologist / counselling services, on top of my govt psychiatrist visits and antidepressant medication.
- My main worry is whether trainee psychologists are able to "legally" diagnose me, and if any future results and referral letters they may give (e.g. diagnosis results) is considered reliable by my psychiatrist, for them to change or add to my medication if needed.

Would appreciate the advice given for my situation as well. Thanks so much!

First time adulting. I think I'm seeing mold & mildew stains on the corner of my room, possibly due to rain leaking through the roof. Anyone knows what specialist should be called for this?

Replying to this post on r/Bolehland. AITA for thinking these kind of captions are just plain stupid? They literally just said "we are Rohingya, from Malaysia to the world". How is stating that overstepping? How is that saying they originate from Malaysia? Link to OP video in comments.

The disinformation and stupidly false news + unfair sentiment against Rohingyan refugees here sort of makes me cry at night to a God that would help, as a coping mechanism

I'm thinking about the refugees here, the women & children especially, that have stopped getting aid from the government and yet they still remain here, not because they want to, but because they STILL don't have a place to safely go back to.

I’m thinking of the 33 yo Rohingyan woman with 2 daughters, who works "illegally" by producing trinkets and merchandise and then sells home cooked food to provide a living while still waiting for the UNHCR to repatriate, that seems like it'll never come.

I'm thinking about the news headlines that constantly state their ethnicity whenever one of them gets on the headline. I'm thinking of the 0.02% of criminal cases reported as being by Rohingyans yet Malaysians think they commit the majority of the crime. I'm thinking about the Nourul Izzah girl who made a speech stating her experience hiding in Sabah from authorities despite also stating getting help from Malaysians, yet got lambasted because Malaysians think she's complaining about us and not Myanmar (despite having made that multiple times in her previous posts)

I'm thinking about those 2 daughters who may have their school lost because Malaysians attacking these schools, and somehow complain about the lack of an "educated mentality".

I promise you, I have also thought about the kids and elderly who live in PPRs or Perumahan Awam DBKL with concrete floors and small houses, where some have been left with minimal supervision from their parents or grandchildren. Tapi apa2 pun, they have the backing of govt subsidies, education, medical support, and the multitudes of sympathy normalised in Malaysians.

Being privileged enough to have a bed at night and enough money to think about my own beliefs even, and now reading all these heavy sentiments online alongside my own personal experience, while also having not enough money and time to contribute to them other than a RM10 bank transfer.

I lay awake after doomscrolling for 2 hours, sobbing, and for the first time ever, pray to God that the Rohingyan family I met would stay safe in whatever way, and that the daughters get a good life. Most would think that this is an emotional reason not to believe in a God but I just truly hope that there will be some godsent person, or something that could change the tides here. Fuck man.

Kind of in a weird dilemma where you're an ex-Muslim and reject the ethnoreligous aspect of Malay culture, but would still support Malay peeps in pursuing entrepreneurship and STEM jobs, and also against petty discrimination against Malays in the workforce.

Caption as is. I mean, just because we label ourselves as ex-Muslims is gonna take away from the fact that people judge us by our facial features and skin colour. Being against this sort of racism is one the few things I would encourage the Malay community to unite over, but otherwise I'm pretty much splitting from the main sentiments. Dunno if anyone here has the same dilemma.

Kepada para Muslimin dan Muslimah yang doomscrolling subreddit kami.

  1. Dah dah lah tu. Semakin kamu baca, semakin kamu lupa dunia. Tapi kalau nak baca, silakan baca 12 point aku nak buat.

  2. First, kenapa nak panas hati dengan kami? Agama kamu di sini dilindungi. Korang ada JAKIM, majlis dan jabatan agama di setiap negeri. Masjid di sini berlambak, azan berbunyi. Mahkamah syariah wujud jika kamu mahu dihadap mengikut peraturan syariah.

  3. Nak tengok content agama, korang boleh tengok TV Al-Hijrah, Astro Prima. TV3 dan RTM pun ada cerita berilmiah agama. Korang tengok balik feed YouTube atau social media kamu, penuh dengan ustad & ustazah selebriti. Kalau panas hati, boleh pergi situ.

  4. Lepastu kau tengok lah kontroversi hangat sekarang, semua berkait dengan agama kamu. Artis ditangkap seks bebas, tak pakai tudung, kelab sauna diserbu sebab "gay", konsert dicemuh sebab pergaulan bebas. Berpuluh ribu likes, agamawan viral duduk sebelah kamu, dekat status WhatsApp kawan2 kamu semua post benda yang sama membantah. Masih panas hati, sebab kami wujud?

  5. Kami yang tak nak amalkan agama kamu? Kita yang kena hadap benda2 macam ni setiap hari, teguran member kerja sebab kamu lukis, kena serbu tak solat Jumaat la, ditangkap berpegang tangan masa tengah dating, ataupun kena call PDRM sebab kamu mempersoalkan elemen-elemen agama. Korang rasa kita tak panas hati ke? Di mana kita boleh luahkan perasaan kami?

I was actually searching back to find photos of the Tidur Lambak event, which was actually a 2-hour lay-down event from 8-10pm, while you listen to Kamal Sabran play some experimental gambus music, which he's currently using for therapy.

Little did I know that I missed an entire Twitter eruption over a video posted on it. The Isu Apa Hari Ini account posted it and so many Muslims were fuming thinking it's mixed gender la, bau busuk, bukan budaya Malaysia, and suddenly tetiba LGBT and promosi seks bebas, Zina, libtard, budaya B40, equating it to the JEJAKA queer ed event?

BRO EVENT TU LITERALLY KAU JUST BARING DAN DENGAR MUZIK NYENYAK. 2 JAM. BUKAN PERGI KONSERT K-POP. BUKAN SEMBUR AIR. BUKAN TELANJANG. KAU BAWA BANTAL DENGAN KAU DENGAR MUZIK GAMBUS.

Yang akaun Isu Apa Hari Ini tu saja nak cetus marah letak segala buzzword dia dapat engagement nak promote pakej promosi pelancongan dia, and these people just lick up that anger-slop and can't even be bothered to research and educate.

Even saw a person with they/them pronouns plus an Indian guy calling for "authorities to take action". Against what exactly?

Like it's already unfortunate that we are so averse to wanting to ban any events that "don't conform to other's beliefs". It's also sad that we as a society haven't normalised the idea of fact checking, even outside the Muslim community, sometimes amongst ex-Muslims like us too, but definitely prevalent within the Muslim community itself.

I'm frustrated! How do we switch up this country's direction?
