Suggestions on keeping up with study planner

For context, i’m 40 and have combined-type ADHD. I’ve managed to balance job and higher education before (BS & MS) but this has less deadline accountability.

I just started the 3 month access to my on-demand class thru SANS, which means reading the physical books, watching videos, and completing lab work. I created a solid study plan to ensure I have enough time to burn down each section across the course of 2 months, leaving me 1 month to refine my index/study.

My problem is actually enforcing said plan and following it daily. I’ve created entries in my calendar to ensure I have reminders of where I should be week by week, but those are easy to dismiss. I want to succeed but usually after 2 weeks I’m only half-heartedly following my plan which means I fall behind and get overwhelmed.

Trans UnInformed MD, but still respectful

I was inspired by a past post to check the clinic notes after my physical before going to Scout camp with my son. For context, we live in NorCal only 90 mins away from the Bay Area. During my brief visit, all I needed was a form signed, but the doctor that I’ve been seeing for three years is habitually uninformed around trans folks. At one point he asked if my son was adopted - because I had a hysterectomy five years ago (my son is 16 lol).

After the brief examination, I spent the next 20 minutes teaching him all about being trans- My history of transition, as well as my experience getting kicked out of the military after 18 years for being trans.

I know it’s not my job to educate people, especially doctors, about being trans…. but it was such a head-scratching experience that an MD would be so genuinely uninformed, I couldn’t help myself. I’m glad to see my notes were respectfully non-gendered, and I hope I made a positive impact on him.

HOTN- Kingfisher tee

I completed this as a test knit for Andrea Gaughan but unfortunately wasn’t able to complete it within the timeframe to be highlighted on her pattern page - no biggy. It was an enjoyable knit that kept my attention and is very size inclusive. I completed a Fit 2- size 4, which fits my androgynous body type. It’s a boxy drop-shoulder design, true to size after going down a couple needle sizes to make gauge.

Modified my body double to match my new figure

I like to do costuming and sew and haven’t been able to use my body double (dubbed “Manny”) post top-surgery. I recently figured out a way to pad it to match my dimensions so I don’t have to buy a new one
