Feel like I’m not in control

Struggling with a chronic health illness as well as just having multiple issues with my physical health.

I feel so scared to go anywhere or do anything.

I just want to live a simple life, find a partner and settle down. Just feeling so alone recently and unsure what I should do to help myself out of this rut.

Meanwhile all of my friends are getting married and I’m soo happy for them but can’t help just feel sad seeing them so easily get what I’ve desired for so long.

Pre-med culture

Hey yall,

I’m curious if anyone else has thought about this stuff

WE HAVE LOST THE PLOT

Genuinely….

It’s kind of sad to think about.

Here we all are, a bunch of enthusiastic, optimistic, passionate people who want to care for others and yet all we are focusing on is MCAT, gpa, med school admissions, residency, etc.

WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A TEAM, IMPROVING HEALTHCARE AND YET WE CONSIDER EACH OTHER “COMPETITION”

THIS IS CRAZYYYY

When did caring for others become such a narcissistic toxic community.

I’m not saying it’s on purpose but it really makes me sad how much we have to fight to prove we are “good enough” to adcoms. I just feel like this is causing us to completely forget about doing things in a meaningful way vs just for a resume.

Anyone else think about this or am I just over analyzing???

Chicago midwestern (CCOM)

Cost of attendance……

I mean tuition alone being 86k……. This is insane. What exactly are you paying 86K in tuition for??? My jaw dropped when I saw the cost of attendance. Anyone else notice this?

MCAT score release 9/2

Sooooo. Need advice. I scored a 497 so will be retaking 7/31 meaning my score will not be released until 7/2. How cooked am I? I will be applying DO but feel so discouraged with being considered “late” 😣

Undiagnosed?

Hey all, so I’m not really sure what’s going on. Never really thought about having endo til this week. Had some full pressure and nausea in my left pelvis where I thought my ovary would be chalked it up to ovulation pain. Next morning woke up, got in shower and then started feeling full pressure again followed by an intense episode of pain??? Idk it’s hard to describe. Anyways. Still had the dull pressure so went to ER cause I was afraid of having a cyst rupture. They did transvaginal and abdomen ultrasound that was “unremarkable” and urinalysis was good, diagnosed me with ovulation pain

The it has now been like 5 days since and I’m still having this dull pressure that is just uncomfortable. I’m also soooooo fatigued and just kind of feel sick. Like I don’t have my normal appetite and just want to lay in bed. My back is also starting to hurt a little. I’m just not sure how to make this dull pressure go away. I tried pelvic relaxation but I just don’t understand what’s going on. Can anyone help? Of course I will call my doc tomorrow but it’s been rough not understanding why I’m in so much discomfort and just feel sick.

Need advice

Scored a 497 and would like to improve as much as I can before July 31st retake. Honestly was shocked by cars and c/p. Was scoring 126 in c/p on my practice exams and 124-125 on cars. Quickest way to improve? What should I prioritize? Also I only made it through 11% of Uworld and only volume one section bank and cars qpack. (Definitely spent too much time on content review)

🤨vent

I keep seeing all these sankeys of students with good stats and good school list have like 1 A. Literally who are these med schools admitting. Like I’m genuinely so confused as to what cancer curing Nobel prize winning students they are looking for. This process has jaded me so much it literally is like the hunger games

AMCAS

Is anyone else just cringed out and just read their activities section too much and just think everything is absolute trash? Is this normal???? I’m so sick of rereading my activities and still feeling like I’m writing like a second grader and I’m not doing a good job of explaining it. Ughhhhhh. I feel like my activities and PS are just so cringe at this point. Anyone else feel this way?!
