Question on choosing the interior for 2026 Sonata hybrid limited

Looking to get into Sonata hybrid limited but not sure what interior to choose. Currently have Tucson hybrid with green gray interior and I like it. But in sonata the door arm rest and controls have lighter color for light interior but in Tucson it’s dark.

I’m wondering if it gets dirty easily. Considering it’s leather I’m assuming it’s easier to clean? Any thoughts?

Black is fine too. Test drive cars were mostly black. Light color just feels a bit more open.

Saw one camel interior too in person. May be because I’m not used to that contrast, it just felt it didn’t match with rest of the darker interior. Am I judging too quickly? Anyone with camel interior can shed some light.

Considering either transmission blue or portfonio gray for the exterior.

People who own Gas Tucson 2025/2026, would you rather have it or prefer Hybrid version?

Currently going through a buyback phase of 2025 Hybrid limited and looking into go Sonata hybrid.

But in my research, I find that the Hybrids could be impacted if we dont drive enough (my annual mileage may be about 8K miles at most, no commute to work by car)

Given I like the space and features of Limited version in Tucson, was thinking if I should just go Tucson Gas version. The OTD price difference between Sonata hybrid and Tucson gas would be about 5K and Gas and Hybrid Tucson would be about 2K.

Will be doing test drives, but I have been seeing the Gas Tucson drive heavy. Is the Tucson Hybrid limited only option, if i prefer space and speed?

Can I get some opinions from Tucson non-hybrid owners? Also, is my understanding about the negative impact of Hybrid powertrain or battery real when it comes to lower mileage?

2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid - Help me diagnose the problem why sometimes EV wont kick in

Hello,

I just joined this sub reddit in a hope if I can diagnose the problem I am having as Hyundai technicians didn't actually find the problem.

I bought my first car, a 2025 Tucson Hybrid that I bought in Nov '25. Just in 2 days, I got some headlight issue followed by entire battery drain and the car has to be towed to dealer who fixed some wiring and car is normal.

Two months later, I got an issue where the car wouldn't accelerate properly as if its in higher gear and wont take input when you are in slower speeds or trying to climb hill. Whenever this happened, I find the EV mode symbol doesn't come in and I cant change or enable Auto regen mode (by holding Right paddle). Possibly the Electric motor is not recognized or input not going to engine.

Giving to the technicians, they change TCM once and next time they changed Engine harness. Still this problem occurs.

What i figured in my tests so far, whenever I start the car in climate start option from the phone and when I get to the car, do a reverse from driveway and try to climb up (I live in mid of a hilly road, so the first drive forward from driveway would be up the hill), the problem occurs.

Solution sometimes, is stop and restart the car or (as my wife figured), to open the hood and slam it to close. Something happens due to the mechanical shock.

Now, I am going through buy back getting almost all money or cash in lieu option of 4k from Hyundai and keep the car. If I can figure what could be the problem, I probably would keep the car as replacing with same car means putting money out of my pocket or going to Sedan to save money.

Can anyone here think of what could be the possible problem for this, so that I can probably check or ask the technicians to focus on that rather than something else?

Also, do these changes in car affect resell or trade in value. I don't see Carfax car care showing this info (shows as wiring reprogrammed) , but not sure if an external Carfax report would show.

Any reason you would rather got SUV?

Hi guys,
I got a Tucson hybrid end of last year. And due to repeated issues starting first week, Hyundai is buying back. I’m now looking at either getting Tucson hybrid limited again or go to Sonata hybrid limited. I’m getting Circle W discount from the corporate to stay with Hyundai and the discount is bigger with sonata (9.5K vs 6.5K)

I went SUV route as my first car with my experience in renting SUV was more comfortable in long drives. But considering the discount and MPG of sonata hybrid, are there anything that made you wish you had a SUV.

I test drove the sonata. The lack of power is apparent but considering a kid on the way I don’t see I’m gonna drive so far or fast in the next few years.

Any drawbacks of getting MY25 Tucson Hybrid vs MY26?

Hi guys,

Basically the title.

I have 2025 Tucson Hybrid Limited which has had issues and they are repurchasing it. I am trying to get same model/color/trim again. Trying to choose this over MY26 as there are some features/complimentary maintenance removed.

Are there any drawbacks for this decision? Does this affect resale a lot due to the Model year or only the car's condition/mileage/maintenance matters? Never owned or sold a car in the US so far.

Thanks for your advice.

Advice needed: $4k "cash-in-lieu" vs Full Buyback on 7-month-old Tucson Hybrid (NJ Lemon Law)

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from fellow Tucson Hybrid owners or anyone who has gone through the Hyundai buyback/Lemon Law process.

My 2025 Tucson Hybrid is 7 months old with only 2,990 miles (located in NJ). I have had a string of major issues since day one:

  • Week 1: Had an headlight problem on day 2 which made the completely lost elecric power and had to be towed (this specific issue was fixed).
  • Month 3: Car threw codes and needed a total Transmission Control Module (TCM) replacement.
  • Recently: The exact same TCM symptoms repeated. This time, the dealership kept it almost 3 weeks and replaced the entire Engine Wiring Harness.

Its been a month since i got the car back. The car is technically working fine right now. However, occasionally it feels like the glitch is trying to repeat itself, but turning the car off and back on seems to make it work.

Hyundai corporate just reached out and gave me two options:

  1. Cash-in-Lieu: They pay me $4,000 and keep the car.
  2. Full Repurchase: They buy the car back completely. The amount is bit more than what i paid for (because they calculate as if i did 16 payments, but I closed the loan in just under two months, so that additional interest coming in)

Part of me feels tempted to take the $4,000 cash and keep driving it since it's running okay today, but a TCM and a full engine harness replacement before 3,000 miles feels like a ticking time bomb.

  1. Should I take the refund, or is the $4,000 cash-and-keep worth the risk if the major repairs are already done?

  2. Should I push for more cash in lieu (the rep said this is the max threshold and we are giving right away, which sounds BS to me).

  3. Does any of the repairs so far affect my resale? (they all done under warranty, 0$ paid)

I got the car for 40K out the door in Nov 2025, which I think I can't get newer Tucson or similar cars. Also, new ones loses some features and complementary service from 2025MY.

Please let me know of any experiences or what would you do/ask before making the decision.

Modern akatsuki insta page

Posting here as I don’t see a TMA sub.

Do you guys know if the same guys still handling the TMA insta page. I know they started being critical about the DMK after they lost (I wish all these podcasters be more critical during their term but that’s beside the point) but they seem like taken complete U turn and targeting Stalin a lot and even now calling PTR resignation as “Right man in wrong party”.

With all things happening right now, I’m wondering what’s their reason to jump ship like this.

Don’t get me wrong. They weren’t pretty critical earlier too, just like SVK and WSR, they had soft corner on DMK but why this sudden change to go on and call them a wrong party which you were being soft just couple weeks ago.

Are they just betting on winning horse?
