Suspicious man following women in van

Hi all, just had a scary experience and felt that it was important to share with the community for awareness. I was walking my aunt’s dogs over in Tumwater at Jim Brown park around 7 pm. There was a man in a white van (so cliche) who was staring at us and barking at the dogs….sorta weird behavior so I walked the other way. As I got farther down the street, I see the van driving very slowly past me. A woman walking alone approached me from behind and told me that she thinks he was following her and trying to kidnap her because he would wait to see which street she would turn onto and then would go that way, overall very suspicious behavior. He seemed to fuck off once he realized that someone else was present. I had her walk with me and offered to stay with her until she got back home. Only descriptive feature I got of him was that he was black, unfortunately I did not get his license plate or any other identifiable features besides that.

Felt it was important to share my experience on here, I had never felt unsafe in that area before that happened. I hate to live in fear as a femme person but it’s always important to have awareness because apparently people are comfortable enough with doing creepy shit that they don’t even care if it’s light outside. Please share your location with a loved one and always stay strapped with pepper spray (even when you think you’re safe). You never know when someone might try to hurt you :/. Posting in the Oly sub for better visibility. Please stay safe out there ya’ll and lookout for femmes 🫶🏻

Feeling lost on making friends when no one is willing to put in effort

I’m a 23 year old college student who has been trying to recover their social life after my 2 closest friendships fell apart a year ago. I’ve never been the kind of person to have a lot of friends, which was okay with me because the few that I had were close and genuine friendships. But after my closest friends left, I’ve severely struggled to get my social life back in order. I have many friends from college that I’m not close with. There are several people who I’ve been trying to spark closer friendships with. Although some of these people have expressed wanting to be closer when we see each other in person, they are often absolutely terrible when it comes to communicating or making plans. Throughout my years, I have found myself always being the one to put in the effort to make plans. Often to no response at all or 0 reciprocation in asking me to go do things. Trust me, I understand the whole being very busy and giving people grace when it comes to responding…but frankly when everyone I know acts like this, it’s hard to have any more tolerance for this behavior. Maybe it’s a generational thing? My own sister does it to me.

Although I’m more of an introvert and enjoy spending time alone, I sometimes find myself feeling very lonely and sad. I realize I’ve become so used to being lonely that I barely try anymore. I’m exhausted by putting so much effort to create relationships when I am given nothing in return. It’s so confusing for me because I like myself and I think that I’m very good company. But it feels as though no one else sees the value in myself that I do. My issue isn’t meeting people. I have several hobbies and attend many events alone where I love to meet strangers. The prevailing trend is that most of the people I know don’t seem interested in creating sustainable relationships. Does anyone else feel this way?

Pros and cons of stretching?

So I’ve been super on and off about stretching my ears for a very long time. I absolutely love the look of them and have done lots of research over the years on the process. Every time I’m about to purchase a kit, I start to worry about some things and end up holding off. I would like to get the perspective of those who have stretched ears and
maybe move past some of my fears.

One of the big ones is that I wear large, dangly earrings on a daily basis, usually the jewelry is pretty light though. I’ve been told mixed things about this, that I shouldn’t wear any dangly jewelry while stretching as it can cause uneven healing, but I’ve also been told that dangles are okay if they are light. I’m curious if I would need to change all of the fish hooks for lever backs? This is all to say that I would really like to not have to give up my large earring obsessions during the long stretching process.

One of my concerns is regarding the look of the ear without plugs/tunnels in. I’m only planning on stretching to 0-00g, I’m curious if there is anyway to avoid that super bumpy and uneven look that I’ve seen on many people with stretched ears. Is that the result of good stretching practices? Or does it just happen and there is no way to prevent it?

I’m obsessed with the look and I feel like it’s almost inevitable that I will get them, but I would like to avoid regret. Please give me your experience!

Anyone willing to ship a mathmos product to the U.S.?

My birthday is coming up and I was very looking forward to getting myself a mathmos oil projector as I’ve been eyeing it for a long time. Only issue is that I did not realize that they don’t ship to the U.S., I’m feeling very sad! If anyone would be willing to help make my birthday wish come true, I would super appreciate it.

Missed connection

This happened in downtown Olympia. This might be a long shot but I met this very tall person yesterday, they had glasses and a buzzcut? I think. Anyways, they stopped me as I was walking downtown and told me that we had been at the same Airbound arts show on Saturday. They caught me at such a bad time, I was very stoned and socially awkward and ended up accidentally asking them the same question 3 times 😭. I swear I’m normally confident and not quite so awkward, and maybe if I wasn’t with my friend, I would have asked for their number. If you’re reading this, you’re handsome, were you flirting with me? Because I think you were…

Western red cedar is dying

Okay so basically I know almost nothing about gardening or caring for plants, I found two potted western red cedars on the side of the road and brought them home. One of them is doing perfectly fine, but I noticed that this one is starting to wilt and get crispy (when it seemed totally healthy not too long ago). They were placed within a few feet of each other. I live in western Washington where they are native to and have some growing naturally behind my home, I didn’t give them any watering since they are tolerant of this climate. My yard is highly shaded and it’s been pretty dry for the last month. I just noticed this a few days ago and have been giving it water from the spigot every other day, and I’ll let it run until the soil is soaked through and draining from the pot. I’m a little too scared to dig it out and mess with the roots since I’m a total amateur. Can she be saved 🥺? Advice would be much appreciated
