Would you recommend a Solo trip to Srilanka or these group trips with operators like Wanderon etc.?

Hey guys, I have been trying to plan a trip however when I explored easy to travel options there is some or the other problem with those few countries during that period.

Vietnam - There is a typhoon warning end of august
Georgia - Tickets are unnecessary expensive from Bangalore
Europe - Too short a notice plus I thought I would rather visit that in October for northern lights
Spiti - I had this in mind however approach roads during monsoon in Himachal are not the best route

The only convenient option that I see is Srilanka for 8-9 days. Flights are reasonable as well.

So my questions are -

  1. Do you have any other option in mind?
  2. Any group travel company that you would recommend for Srilanka?

PS - I am a very chilled out person so adaptability is not a problem. However I prefer having my own space at times so as to wander alone but at the same time would prefer a company at certain times.

I have been to a few group trips to places like Ladakh and Nagaland - LOVED IT!

Ofcourse I was lucky to have an awesome group however I am not sure if international trips would also be as much fun with a group operator considering they have to cover a lot of things in such a short time that too with taking everyone along.

Why can’t people just keep it simple?

So I am in this process of finding a life partner and it’s overwhelming. Finding someone who matches your preferences is hard enough. But when you actually like someone after the first conversation, and it still goes nowhere, that’s a different kind of exhaustion.

I spoke to someone for 45 mins and it was genuinely engaging. Good energy, real conversation. That call was followed by a sincere message from their side about how lovely it was and that we should stay connected.
Post that, little to no contact. I followed up a few times, always an excuse and now two days of radio silence.

I get it. Silence probably means no interest. I’m not even afraid of rejection - never have been. What I don’t understand is why people can’t just say what they actually feel.

I know the theories: past experiences, not wanting to hurt someone, their own unresolved things. Fine. But here’s the thing, just say it. A simple “I don’t see this going anywhere” is a hundred times kinder than disappearing. Silence isn’t protection. It’s just avoidance dressed up as consideration.

Is basic clarity really too much to ask for?

Hello everyone. I'll be honest — posting here feels a little vulnerable, but I've always believed in being straightforward, so here goes.

A little about me: I'm a 34-year-old guy, originally from Gurgaon, currently living and working in Bangalore. I did my graduation and post-graduation from tier 1 colleges and have been fortunate to build a decent career so far. I'm mentioning this not to show off, but because I know these things matter practically when two people are thinking about building a life together.

The more important part of my story — I came out of a 6-year relationship at 31. It wasn't easy, but the three years that followed turned out to be some of the most valuable of my life. I took the time to reflect, introspect, and genuinely get to know myself better. I don't regret that journey at all. If anything, I'm grateful for it.

Now, at 34, I feel ready — not out of pressure or loneliness, but because I genuinely want someone in my life who adds value to it. Someone I can look up to, and who maybe looks up to me a little too. 😄

I've tried dating apps. I even hired a matrimony consultant recently. And now I'm here — because why not try every avenue, right?

A few things about me:

- Travel is a big part of my life. I've explored most of India and quite a few countries. Still waiting for that classic "bump into someone on a flight" movie moment though — hasn't happened yet! 😄

- Sports is my first love and fitness is a lifestyle for me, not just a phase.

- I'd like to think I'm caring, reasonably emotionally intelligent, and decent looking — though I'll let others be the judge of that.

What I'm looking for is simple at heart — someone who shares similar values, has a zest for life, and where we genuinely bring out the better in each other. I deeply admire ambition and I'd love to be with someone who has her own sense of purpose and drive in her career. Not because it's a checkbox, but because I find that energy genuinely inspiring. Someone who is chasing her own goals while we build something together — that sounds like a wonderful kind of partnership to me. Shared lifestyle interests like travel and fitness would be a bonus.

If any of this resonates with you, or if you know someone it might, feel free to reach out. Happy to share more over a conversation.

Here's to taking chances. 🙂
