what do i do about my brother

how do i not beef with a 14 year old

hey so i (19f) moved out of my parents house last year for university. i have a younger brother who is 14 and still lives with them, however our treatment has been drastically different our entire lives. i am as low contact as possible but i am still financially reliant on them and they use it to their advantage. because of this, i have to go visit at times ie holidays etc.

i’ve always been the scapegoat of the family, and the emotional abuse, neglect and manipulation was present throughout my life. every single adult and medical professional in my life has told me that i needed to get out of there as quickly as possible. it’s also important to note that i was disowned and kicked out last summer, for no reason other than they suspected that i am gay (unfortunately for me i am.)

my issue is that my 14 year old brother, is also starting to treat me as a scapegoat. he refuses to believe or accept that my parents are ever in the wrong, and he tells my parents things he knows will put me in physical danger, or at least get me in trouble. he sees me as a terrible person for always going against my parents, when in reality i am just trying to have some peace.

is it crazy if i go less contact with him? or do i just give him time

How do you set realistic expectations for relationships?

Hi guys! I’ve been diagnosed with EUPD for over 5 years now and I’ve noticed that I always set myself as the standard for relationships. If my close friends / boyfriend, does something that I feel like I would never do to someone I love, I spiral or split on them.

For example my friend from university, who for context I am living with next year, asked me to go all the way to your uni house and give her the keys and help her move completely, and leave shortly after so she can hang around with her bf (of 1 month.) Also, I have been travelling for the past 2 days, because I’m visiting my grandma for a bit, I’m talking like 3 flights with multiple hour transits. My boyfriend said that he’d call me before we both slept last night and even after all my flights, I still stayed up and waited 3 hours for him to call me only to get a text this morning saying that he fell asleep.

I know my feelings and my reality are very warped from how a person without BPD may think about it, but I really am just so miserable all the time. Id do absolutely anything in my capacity for the people I love and everything hurts so deeply, even with people around me I am just so alone.
