Chocolat de Kat (Toronto) 4 bags $18.03

Saw the post for this bag a few days ago, so jumped at the chance to try it out. Looking forward to this. Fingers crossed that Miso Salt & Vinegar is tasty, as I have 8 of them.

Pizza Depot, Lawrence West (Toronto) $7.99 Pizza Bag

Sure seems like there are more shifting away from the 3x model. Was considering getting a bag from here, but am wondering if what I am seeing should be considered a red flag. $7.99 for declared $15 pizza value. When you look at what other bags are possible from the store, you see they initially listed $7.99 as a $24 value. There are only a few reviews, with 4.5 rating.

If I had to guess, maybe they switched from $24 to $15 just to be safe from refund complaints? Meaning, nothing actually changed with the bag. The reviews are recent - up until a week or so ago, there were no reviews, which is likely due to the store making a brand new offering for $15.

Am I over thinking it? I was legit thinking about giving them a try, but the $15 declaration makes me feel like they are prepared to give crap bags. Just curious how others would read this.

20 years later, the most controversial Doctor Who episode of all time deserves another chance

I most definitely fall into the niche, and enjoyed this episode, "Love & Monsters", from when it first aired. Unfortunately, too many focus on what makes them angry about this episode, which really obscures some of the good things. This read offers an angle I had previously not considered appreciating - the growth and development of Jackie.

Maple Leafs draft czar Mark Leach on whether he dug into Gavin McKenna's bar fight incident: "I didn't really dig into that at all... Things happen... I just didn't think it was relevant"

"Great kid. Good family. Good people. Driven. He is a mature kid. He wants to win, as all of these kids do. He is just a real fine young man."

Encounter with Toronto Police

I had a recent encounter with Toronto police at Bathurst/College. Took place during the day, and while I was driving a car. I offer this story here because I have pretty much been exclusively a cyclist for them last couple of decades, and have only been recently driving to help my father after surgery. Not gonna lie - the experience has definitely given me a better understanding of frustrations from a driver perspective, despite being committed towards making Toronto safer for cyclists.

In this instance, I had to drop off a bunch of things near Queen/Bathurst. As many are aware, streetcar lanes on Bathurst have been painted Red to keep cars out, allegedly to help manage things during FIFA. From what I have seen, this has fostered confusion and gridlock. When you reach Dundas, you also encounter further reduction from Toronto Western Hospital, where a significant part of road has been blocked off for a couple of years.

In any case - the trek north was very slow and painful. I need to turn west on College, and had an ebike rider and a stopped streetcar in front of me. The streetcar crossed just as the lights changed, and despite the light turning red, the ebike rider and I proceeded to make the turn. Heard the police sirens immediately, and pulled over.

Without doubt, it was a sketchy turn. To be clear though - there was absolutely no one put at risk. My honest feeling at the moment was it worth doing to help improve the gridlock flow behind me.

From the onset of engaging with the officer, I acknowledged my mistake. He told me he was initially attempting to stop the ebike, but had to go for me because I had made the same violation and was behind the ebike. I gave him my license, and was bracing myself for a nasty ticket. Thankfully, after looking me up, the officer returned and gave me a warning. He appreciated that I acknowledged my mistake, and also saw that I had a crystal clean driving abstract for 30+ years.

In any case - I really appreciated his understanding, especially as I have mostly not been a big fan of Toronto police services from being a Toronto cyclist.

Driving in downtown Toronto is very frustrating, which pretty much affirms why I have been a cyclist the last few decades. While my allegiance is clear, at the very least, I feel the experience has offered me more balance and compassion for the other side of the equation.

Why didn't we get a story exploring 14's panty sniffing fetish?

RTD2 would have enjoyed much greater success and retained the Disney partnership if he would have explored 14's panty sniffing fetish. This was the way.....

Finch West Bike Lanes

Does anyone know what actually is up with the Finch West bike lanes, from Weston to Keele? Why have they never been opened? It has been about 2-3 years since they were built, but there are still pylons deployed throughout to prevent anyone from using them. This is like the epitome of slow, inefficient, and inconsistent roadwork in Toronto.

No-Trade/No-Move Clauses 2025-26 — The Fourth Period

Does anyone know how or why there is such a wide difference between teams with regards to No Movement Clauses? This list linked here is at least slightly out of date. Remarkable how some teams have zero NMC's, while others, like the Oilers, were bloated with 10. How is this determined? Are there GM's who simply flat out refuse to give NMC's? Ultimately, I'm curious what the strategy will be for Leafs new management. Is it even possible to internally set a team wide cap on this, or is this something the agents decide? My feel is the Leafs need to be tight on this moving forward, regardless of the cries that these must be included in order for someone to play in the toughest media market.

Devils & Maple Leafs Could Compete for Front Office Executive, Again

McCabe?!? For player development. Sure feels like they are getting the band back together. And I kinda dig it.
