My mum knew something was wrong

This must’ve happened around 16 years ago where I would’ve been around 3 and my sister would’ve been 5.

We used to live in this tiny flat with me and my sister, my mum and my dad. And our next-door neighbours were a little family, the Dad let’s call him Peter his girlfriend and his kids. Their family was a little bit rough around the edges but they were okay. They were nice neighbours and me and my sister used to play with their kids.

One day, me and my mum and my sister had just driven back from the supermarket and as we parked up my mum saw Peter and his two friends outside in the communal garden area. And when she saw him, something felt wrong. She couldn’t explain this feeling but something about Peter felt very wrong in that moment and she felt so uncomfortable that she left the shopping in the car and just took me and my sister into the flat as quick as possible so that she wouldn’t have to talk to Peter.

The rest of the day went on as normal cooking dinner playing with us kids and putting us to bed. Her and my dad went to bed at a normal time and at around 3:30 in the morning, there was loud banging on the front door and on the windows, which woke my parents up instantly. There was yelling from outside “ Peter, we know you’re in there, hands on your head and exit the flat”. This would be terrifying for anyone.

Kind of a dick move from my dad, but he made her go to answer the door in her dressing gown because he was too scared. My mum open the door very gently and outside in front of her there were armed police pointing guns at her. (Keeping in mind this is in England, where our police don’t use guns unless it’s a special team). Anyway she opened the door and she said “ I think you need next door”. The police apologised to my mum and quickly went away to find Peter again.

We didn’t hear anything about the situation until a little bit later when we found out that the night before we went to the supermarket, Peter had burgled a house ,with two friends , that belonged to an old man and they bludgeoned him to death.

We still don’t understand what or why my mum got that feeling that something was wrong with Peter.

Something nice we like to think is that maybe her late Dad was giving her a sign to protect her or something sweet like that. But, it’s just something comforting yk.

Derelict cottage

This is what happened to my mum when we were on holiday. Must’ve been about 12 years ago we were on holiday in Cornwall which is a county in the south-west of England and Cornwall is known to have a lot of myths and legends mostly around pirates and pirate culture because that’s where the Grog drinking skallywag pirates originated from and that’s where the Hollywood pirate accent comes from. And also that’s where the “Cornish pixies” which are mentioned in Harry Potter come from.

Anyway, we were on holiday somewhere in Cornwall and we went into this quaint little town and it had cobbled little streets about 7 feet wide with cobbled houses each side of the street way. If you can imagine Medieval cobbled houses or the white houses with black beams and thatched roofs, that’s basically what it looks like. And while we were walking through one of these streets, my mum looked up at this cobbled house, its windows were yellow and foggy and just pretty grim. Anyway, as she was looking at this window, she saw an old woman who is wearing what look like a white nightgown with long grey hair. She must’ve been in her 80s or something because she had a lot of wrinkles and she was just staring at my mum and my mum found it terrifying she felt a pit in her stomach that wouldn’t go away.

Although she was scared, she didn’t tell my dad or me and my sister because she didn’t want to scare us. But opposite this weird cobbled house there was a very small antique type shop and my mum loves these sort of things so she went in and just had a look around and she ended up talking to the owner of this little antique shop which was I think a woman in her 60s. And my mum said something like “ is that woman in the house opposite okay? Because she looked quite angry and she was just staring down at me”

And the woman who owned this antique shop looked at my mum confused. She said “ that house is derelict. No one lives there”. And my mum‘s heart fell into her stomach.

It’s not like this could’ve been a homeless person because this was a tiny town, definitely not a place where homeless people would go because there’s literally nothing there. Also keeping in mind that this was like a frail elderly woman, the entrances to this building were completely boarded off so any luck of breaking into this direct building would’ve been hard for a normal adult let alone a frail old lady.

My mum has always been very spiritually open, but this experience genuinely terrified her.

Unfortunately, this was back when we didn’t have a lot of money and didn’t have a family computer or anything that we could research on and we can’t remember the name of the town. I genuinely would’ve loved to look into it as I have the same spiritual openness so she does.

Definitely weird and spooky. My mum has a lot of spiritual experiences that she can’t explain. So I’ll probably write more about her experiences soon.

Dr said it’s normal but I’m not convinced and am quite worried.

I noticed that my mole had changed colour to the deep brown and had a halo around it, so I took a pic of it on Saturday.

I saw the doctor today and he said it looks normal. He looked at it for about 1 second, didn’t feel it, didn’t ask any questions and it seemed like he had already decided his diagnosis from the picture (left) I had sent him a few days before.

My symptoms: The texture had changed (it was flat), it feels scabby, it’s itchy, sore, bleeds a tiny bit.

It has obviously changed since Saturday and I’m not satisfied with him saying it’s normal but idk what to do.

(Red at the top of image is from my belly button piercing, the mole has had symptoms before the piercing)

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do now, if my GP has already decided there’s not really another option. I want to go to derm and get a their opinion but idk how im supposed to get referred there.

You guys are gonna be so jealous.

He was so lovely and I was so awkward😭 I was working so I couldnt chat for longer than a minute or even get all my words out right and was shaking so badddd. I was also wearing a tshirt with a skull on it, and I think you guys know what he had to say about that … ”SKULL EMOJIIIIIII”

I have autism, so even going up to him and saying ”hi” was such a huge accomplishment for me and my family are super proud of me.

His videos mean so much to me. I’ve always struggled with my mental health and I remember watching his videos while I was crying in hospital on my own(which now I’m writing out, sounds depressing as helllll) and watching his videos to help me eat, in the heights of my ED. I’ve heard people say to their favourite YouTubers ”you saved me”, and I genuinely thought it was so cheesy and exaggerated. But Matt, you seriously helped me through my mental health journey, which I am still continuing to push through- you give me another reason to smile and giggle and continue living. You honestly made my day and I am so grateful I got to meet you- even though it was so brief.

Thank you for everything Matt. 💀🩵

Edit: Hell yeah I made a new account just for this hehe.
