Sparkling gouramis fin nipping and chasing

Ive had a trio of sparkling gouramis in this tank (2 females/1 male) for about 3 weeks now, and I’ve recently been noticing an increase in chasing/fin nipping. The fins of the females have been especially nipped, one more than the other, and I think it’s the male causing it since his fins aren’t nipped at all. One of the females now mainly hides under the filter and heater in the corner, while the male has kind of made the right side of the tank his territory. The pic of the tank was taken right after a big plant trimming and filter maintenance, which is why it kinda looks cloudy. Before the trimming the left side was pretty densely planted, but the nipping and chasing was still occurring then too. Is this a serious problem that requires rehoming, or are they just still establishing territories/pecking order and it should resolve itself?

Thanks

Does my kuhli look okay? His body seems kinda pale compared to his head

He also is breathing a lot - not super fast but at a constant rate which is more than the other kuhlis who seem to take a breath every couple of seconds. He doesnt seem to move around the tank that much but I could attribute that to him just being more active at night and me not seeing it. All parameters are good and he’s been in the tank about 3 weeks now.

Thanks

Edit: I went out for 4 hours and just got back home and he is still in the same spot and still looking pale and breathing constantly. Is there anything I can do to make sure he’s okay? I’m worried he’s not gonna make it

Male or female?

Leaning male because it doesn’t have visible ovaries, but it might be too young to sex

Discolored spots on sparkling gourami

Does anyone know what these spots are on the body of my sparkling gourami? He’s acting and eating normally, so I might just be a little paranoid lol.

Thanks

Honey gourami “resting” on substrate/plants somewhat frequently

I’ve recently noticed my honey gourami “resting” on the substrate/plants a bit more than usual, where he’s usually mostly upright and breathing normally. He rests like this for a couple minutes at most at a time, and then when he finally stops resting he gets up and swims around normally/goes up for a breath of air. He still eats normally and everything about him looks the same (healthy), so I’m wondering if this is something to be concerned about since I’ve noticed the “resting” behavior a little more often. I tested parameters and everything was 0 (even nitrates cuz tank is heavily planted), and his only tank mates are two endlers and shrimp. I know the endlers hyper activeness could be stressing him out, but I’ve never seen the endlers bothering him as they are too busy sparring each other, and they’ve been tank mates for nearly 4 months now with no issues. Tank has been fully cycled for about 5 months now.

Is it a good idea to dose API General Cure after adding new fish?

I recently added some new kuhli loaches to my tank that already has a healthy group of pygmy corys and neo shrimp. I had some trouble in the past with kuhlis and pygmy corys dying a couple days after I added them to unknown reasons (tank is fully cycled and water parameters normal), and I was wondering if it was because they had internal parasites/infections that caused them to die without an obvious reason. Is it a good idea to dose API General Cure after adding these new kuhlis to make sure they don’t mysteriously die like the last ones? Also would it be safe for the other fish and shrimp? Or should I just leave things be and only dose when I see symptoms? I was doing this before, but then kuhlis that acted normal and healthy for about a week just randomly died with no obvious cause. I know it’s better to do this in a quarantine tank rather than the main tank, but I unfortunately dont have one. The new kuhlis I’ve just added are acting normal and healthy, but idk what to trust after my last batch.

Thanks

Is this fin rot on my kuhli?

I noticed the tail fin of one of my kuhlis looks a little milky and not full, and I was wondering if this is fin rot and what I can do to treat it. I tested parameters and got 0 ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates (tank is heavily planted). He seems to be acting normal

Are these female clown killifish? Third one is confirmed male as reference

I know the females are supposed to have little color in their tails, but these two that I think are female have a little bit of orange at the base, compared to the third pic which is a male with a much more colorful tail.

What is this on my kuhli? He’s been flashing

I just noticed this like dark abrasion thing on top of my kuhlis head. It’s the first time I’ve seen it on him and the first time I’ve seen him flashing against plants and substrate. Does anyone know what this is and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks

What is this on my parents betta?

This is my parents betta that I am currently making a bigger and better tank for. I noticed this grayish patch on his side that kind of protrudes out. Is this some sort of fungal infection, and what can I do to treat it? I know he doesn’t look the best, but I was hoping putting him in an actual and better tank would fix most of the problems itself. I tested the water he’s in and it said 0 ammonia and nitrites but around 20 ppm nitrates. I’m worried this is a problem that a better tank with better water quality wouldn’t be able to fix on its own.

Thanks

What to do after ammonia spike in stocked tank? Did water change but ammonia levels still testing 0.5 ppm

I recently removed the rotting bed of plants you can see right in the middle of my tank, and it spiked the ammonia to 0.25/0.5 ppm after doing a water test with a liquid test kit. I did a 50% water change with prime and added an extra dose of prime after, but when I tested the water again the ammonia was still at the same level. I currently have pygmy corys and shrimp in this tank, and I’m worried what the ammonia spike will do to them. Should I just wait a day before testing again, or is there anything else I can do right now to lower ammonia? The tank was cycled for a month before I added any fish or shrimp.

Pygmy corys not coloring up?

I got this batch of Pygmy corys a week and a half ago and they’ve seemed to have settled in by now. They’re all displaying normal behaviors like being active, foraging in the sand, and just loafing around, but they all don’t seem to be very colored up as they seem to be this kinda paleish beige color, the black line across their bodies don’t seem to be very dark, and they don’t seem very silver as they do in pictures online. I’d assume it’s the color of my sand or my lighting, but in the 3rd picture is a previous batch of corys in the same tank that unfortunately didn’t make it.

Do they need more time to settle in, or does this batch just have different genetics or something?

Thanks

Pygmy corys keep dying and this one looks off. Help

I got a group of 6 Pygmy’s for my cycled tank and they all did fine the day I put them in (floated and slowly acclimated with spoonfuls of tank water over an hour). The next morning I found one dead, so I got another one to replace it and another Pygmy ended up dead the next morning, and one of them now has this weird tannish opaque dorsal fin that none of the other ones have. He’s also a little lethargic and swims a little odd. I tested my water and ammonia and nitrites came up 0, and nitrates came up 5 ppm. However, my pH is 8 and my hardness is 18 dGH, but I read that they could adapt to live in harder water conditions. Does anyone know what’s going wrong and what I could do to help the sick looking one?

Thanks

EDIT: Just found and took out a damselfly/dragonfly nymph from the water. Hopefully that solves it

Pygmy cory with red gill? Help

I added 6 Pygmy corys to my tank yesterday, and one unfortunately died overnight. The dead one had a red gill like the one in the photo, but the one in the photo is still living, although he’s a little lethargic and isn’t shoaling with the other 4 who are acting and look normal. Does anyone know what this is/what killed the other fish and what I can do to save this one with a red gill? Tank is cycled and ammonia and nitrites are 0, and nitrates are 5 ppm.

Thanks

Current tank being cycled. Any thoughts?

Any ideas on how to improve this tank for a betta and maybe some corys?

Thanks!

What kind of plant is this, and does it need to be buried in substrate or attached to hardscape?

It looks like a rhizome, but I also see some roots at the bottom. Thanks in advance
