Is it possible to "un-theme"?

I created a test playlist with lyrics presented with mixed case letters.

Next, I applied a theme which capitalized all characters and changed the font style.

Now I want to revert. It seems that the theming was more like a spreadsheet "paste format" than an applied style to be toggled/edited. Is there no simple way to return to the default case/font/style?

Corollary... I changed the theme to a different font. Seems it is not possible to update slides to the "revised" theme without applying it again to all presentations. Am I understanding this?

Upgraded Bookworm to Trixie alongside 3rd-party apps

Before updating I ran apt list '?narrow(?installed, ?not(?origin(Debian)))' to identify non-Debian packages. Results included Docker, Tailscale, and Veeam.

I elected NOT to uninstall those.

After the Trixie ugrade completed, all three packages were running as expected. However, when I ran apt list '?obsolete', Veeam appeared (among others). As I was unsure why, I then ran apt purge '?obsolete' which wiped out Veeam.

After reinstalling Veeam, I again ran apt list '?obsolete' and it was not present. I'm unsure why the same Veeam version registered as “obsolete”, but again I was cautioned to remove 3rd-party apps before upgrading.

So... Docker and Tailscale passed through the upgrade without issue. Veeam did so partially, as it was functional, but registered as “obsolete”.

Maybe this will help someone in the future.

Before you update to 7,4...

Know that DSM 7.4 ends support for PHP 8.1, Mail Station, and Synology Mail Server.

Post install cleanup suggestion

Storage Efficiency

“Storage Efficiency” is not yet available in this initial release. When it does come, it is limited to these models. There is no word on whether this feature applies to only new or existing content.

Synology states that "Storage Efficiency" requires Synology hard drives for post-processing deduplication and compression.

Raspberry Pi NUT Server/Client question

New setup running NUT server on Raspberry Pi to control PC/Debian/NAS servers. NUT Server is running on the RPi with NUT client on the others.

After the PC/Debian/NAS servers go down, I want to shut down the RPi and UPS. To shut down RPi, does it also need to run NUT client, or is NUT server sufficient as RPi is “primary” (not secondary).

I've read through much documentation, but my soft brain is not understanding how the primary is shutdown. Thanks!

How to stop subtitle downloads when embeds are present in my video files

New user here. My bazarr instance downloads subs when subs are embedded in the MKV files. In settings, I've activated “Treat Embedded Subtitles as Downloaded”, but that isn't working as I anticipated, so I must be overlooking something. How can I prevent sub downloads when subs are included in the video file? Thanks!

Why so many profiles when "Any" covers the range I need?

New user here so excuse the mistakes, but after reducing my profiles, I got wondering why not just use "Any" (which for me caps out a 2160/No Remux. For example.

Apart from reducing download bandwidth, why not take a 480/720/1080/2160 path if I'm ultimately hoping for 4K (where possible). Thank you.

Can I see missed notifications that appear when I open the app?

Often I start the app vocally while drive. Frequently a large notification appears in-App. As I'm driving I can't deal with it immediately, so I brush it aside to see the map. I dislike these as they lead to distracted driving, and IMO, should not appear when GPS detects motion.

How can I see what I've missed later on?

Plex Pass owners ... Do you know where your receipt is?

After reading the recent thread describing someone who "lost" access to their Plex Pass account, I realized that I had no idea where my receipt trail went.

Sure... you can log in to Plex.tv and find a copy of your registration... but what if you were to log in and discover it is no longer there? After a deep dive into my email archives, I recovered a "receipt" of sorts, only to notice that Plex Pass doesn't have a "key", but only your email addy. That seemed a bit weak to me, but so be it. PDF'd my emails and the plex.tv site account showing the services that I had, and hope this is sufficient proof.

After all... I wouldn't spring for $750 (mine was $74.99) ever ... and neither should you.

If you don't have your registration info handy, now might be a good time to secure it.

UNAS Storage Shield - How to set up

Just updated to Drive 4.2.2, and (I don't see Storage Shield option](https://i.imgur.com/0sbtDWY.png) aka “scrubbing”.

Where is this? Doesn't match the graphic I see on the release notes. Thanks!

Dirty Frag - Should we be concerned?

After learning the Copy Fail does not affect Synology NAS, what about Dirty Frag

When I ran sudo lsmod | grep -E "esp4|esp6|rxrpc" I got no response which suggests DSM is unaffected. But is it so? Running it on my Debian instance also came up empty.

Do you keep your docker containers running 24/7, or spin them up before they are needed. For example, I use BentoPDF maybe three times a week. So I've gotten to where I down the container after I'm done using it. The only containers I leave up, are my “infrastructure” apps... vaultwarden, radicale, WireGuard, NPM, Jellyfin.

Given that most images have unresolved CVEs, reducing exposure, is just another security layer. As well it frees up memory, and reduces CPU load, and the power that requires.
