Thoughts..when fiction feel too real

Someone posted yesterday like how we in 30s enjoying teen fiction romance..and it got me thinking

Does anyone else feel this way? Like I’m 31 and not in a relationship, but I absolutely love watching teen and college romance dramas like Off Campus and tsitp . While I am watching them, I get completely immersed in the story and the emotions. But once it is ovver, I sometimes feel a little down.

Part of it is that I cant really relate to that stage of life anymore. not in college, not surrounded by that youthful atmosphere, and I havent experienced a love story like that myself. It makes me wonder if I missed out on something.

And then there’s the comparison factor. Watching someone like lola tung , who is so naturally beautiful, most importantly Young lol can make me feel like maybe I dont look like the kind of person who gets that cinematic, sweeping romance.

I know these shows are fictional and idealized, but they still tap into a real desire to experience love, connection, and being chosen by someone special. I feel like i missed out on something now i m old will not get to experience love

Does anyone else enjoy these kinds of stories but feel a little sad afterward? Or compare themselves to the actors or characters wonder if they’ll ever have a love story of their own?
