okay i never thought of looking up for the meanings/significance of the characters names. but today i learned the following:
elain: "bright, shining light" *
lucien: "light" or "illumination"
azriel: "god is my help" or "god helps"
gwyn: "blessed" or "holy"
* it also looks like elain means fawn, which is super cool.
do you think this is intentional or a fun coincidence?
so, i've been wanting to do a re-read for MONTHS and i just never got to it. sooooo what better moment to start than right now!
i am a planner and visualizing things like this helps me stay on track, so i thought this might be helpful for someone who's also just starting the re-read! 🩷
and for those who already started, how is it going? what are you reading right now?
editorial groups have started to receive acotar6 for translations. no title yet, but an interesting quote that says "A Book in Four Movements"
apparently, symphonies are known for having four movements specifically. someone mentioned this on twitter and i decided to look more into it:
"Most classical symphonies adhere to a four-movement structure, each with its own character and form. Understanding these movements is key to appreciating a symphony’s overall architecture.
1. The First Movement: Sonata-Allegro Form
The first movement of a symphony is usually in sonata-allegro form, a structure that balances both drama and coherence. This form consists of three main sections:
– Exposition: The composer introduces the main themes of the movement. Typically, there are two contrasting themes (or theme groups): the first in the home key (tonic) and the second in a different key (often the dominant or relative major/minor). The exposition usually ends with a closing theme or a codetta.
– Development: The themes introduced in the exposition are explored, expanded, and transformed. This section often involves modulation to different keys, creating a sense of tension and exploration.
– Recapitulation: The original themes return, but this time both are in the home key. This section resolves the tension created in the development and brings the movement to a satisfying close. Sometimes, a coda is added to provide a final sense of closure.
2. The Second Movement: Slow and Lyrical
The second movement offers a contrast to the energetic first movement, providing a slow and lyrical respite. This movement is often in a ternary (ABA) or theme-and-variations form. In ternary form, a main theme (A) is presented, followed by a contrasting middle section (B), and then the return of the main theme (A). In theme-and-variations, a theme is presented and followed by a series of variations that alter the theme in creative ways.
3. The Third Movement: Dance Forms
The third movement is typically a dance, often in the form of a minuet and trio or a scherzo. The minuet and trio, a holdover from the Baroque period, features a stately dance in triple meter (minuet), a contrasting section (trio), and a return to the minuet. The scherzo, introduced by Beethoven, is similar in structure but faster and more playful, adding a burst of energy to the symphony.
4. The Fourth Movement: Finale
The finale brings the symphony to a rousing conclusion. It is often in sonata-allegro form, rondo form (ABACA), or a combination of both (sonata-rondo form). The finale aims to provide a satisfying sense of closure, often through lively and triumphant themes that leave the listener with a feeling of exhilaration."

this, along with the music notes emojis, give us a hint that music is probably going to be a strong element on this part of the series.
i know elriels love to make fun of us gwynriels by calling us "gleeriels" or whatever hahah. but it seems like a common theme.
what are we thinking? gwynriel confirmed? are we reaching?
i'm interested in reading y'all thoughts 💖 my opinions will be on the comments!
fun reading month. the narnia series was the biggest disappointment as i had very high expectations :/
honestly, i had mixed feelings about posting this. like, who the fuck rates dragon smut so high but a classic series such as narnia so low? and i get it, but for me is about the expectations and delivery, how the book made me feel and how the story developed.
so, i'm not big on the enneagram cause i've never felt very represented by it. however, there was this one time someone told me it was impossible for me to be both an infj and 8w7.
i (24F) have done several mbti tests since 2017 when my interest about the mbti started, and have always gotten infj. it's the one constant in my life. but then i learned about the enneagram and got 8w7, which for its description doesn't seem to be very in line with infj. although there was a period of time around 2021 where i got enneagram 6 in two different tests.
last year, since it had been a while since i had taken the tests, did several for both mbti and enneagram, and again got infj 8w7, however 8w9 was VERY close as well.
overall i'm kinda confused about it. what are your thoughts about this? have i been mistyped for the last almost 10 years? or is the enneagram just not for me? or does it literally doesn't matter and i'm overthinking it?
