Range Seems Low

I just picked up this 2023 Advanced off a lease return and it seems like the range is way worse than I'd expect. The AC has been running but I've been driving fairly conservatively. Is this expected? I'm seeing 2.7- 3.2m/kWh in mixed driving (never about 65) which tracks with the GOM, but seems very low.

Does the AC really do that much? Anything obvious I should check? No roof rack or other external modifications.

Clear Peeling From Wheels

I've never seen this so bad on a 3 year old car in a salt-free environment. Have others seen this? Is this something that warranty would cover?

S26, S26+, S26 Ultra - All the same price

Hi all, kind of an interesting dilemma I find myself in. I have a free upgrade from T-Mobile and I can choose any of the S26 lineup for free. The only difference is the $40 or so difference in tax I'd need to pay.

The thing is I've always had the base Galaxy phones and prefer the smaller size. I know this is something of a personal question but for those who have gone from smaller to larger phones, was it manageable? Does the upgraded phone bring enough extra to accept the less desirable size?

Trade-In Value Changes After IMEI

Hi all, I'm trying to upgrade my device by taking advantage of T-Mobile's trade-in promos. I enter the device make and model (Samsung Galaxy S20 FE) and it shows the device is eligible for the $1099 credit towards an S26+. Then when I go to checkout it asks for the IMEI. After entering that, it drops to $30 with no explanation as to why. It still shows the same phone, same memory, just $30 now. On the phone with T-Mobile they don't seem to know what's happening and are telling me to just go ahead with the checkout which I'm definitely not doing.

Any ideas what's happening here?

Edit: I tried with a different S20 FE IMEI and it's doing the same thing. If I use my S23 as a trade-in it does honor the full credit amount even after IMEI goes in

Lost Saved Messages

I accidentally moved a message I saved for later from the "Completed" to the "In Progress" tab through the hamburger menu on the entry in the "Completed" list. Since the message reminder expired already, Slack shows a badge indicating I have a message ready. However, it's not showing up in my "In Progress" tab. I tried it again with another task and I see the same result. Luckily I know where that one is and it shows "Saved for Later - Due 5 hours ago".

Essentially, I have a saved message that does not show up on any of the 3 "Later" lists. Any idea how to find out where this message is so I can clear this badge

Retire, to what, and why?

I see a lot of discussion here (and other FI forums) about “the number,” withdrawal rates, "can I retire with $3.5M?”, “you already won, just retire", tax strategy, etc.

This is great, but it's also somewhat of a finite topic and I feel it has been exhausted. If you have understood, implemented and maybe even succeeded with basic investing strategies, the more philosophical questions about what retirement actually means start to surface.

I’d love to hear more stories, thoughts, perspectives from people who are ready to retire financially but haven't made the leap. Or from those 1 to 5 years into retirement (both the successes and the disappointments). What did you do, what worked, what would you caution others about, etc.

For example, some of the things bouncing around my brain:

  • What am I trying to retiring to? Or am I just trying to escape my current life?
  • What will give my life structure, meaning, identity, challenge, community? I can't see myself being happy just indulging in recreation
  • Will retirement actually make me happier? Will the same fears/anxieties/problems just reappear in a different framing?
  • Is this life really what I would chose for myself if it wasn't my default?
  • Do I just pull the trigger now, enabling a very reasonable lifestyle, or work 5 more years and increase my discretionary spending by 50% or set my children up for the future, etc
  • What will I lose and find difficult to replace?

Personally, a lot of my thought patterns are rooted in fear and I'm working on addressing that. I'd love to hear other's perspectives.

I got this bag of Yirgacheffe from S&W and noticed there's quite a bit of variability to the roast level. It is my first time ordering from S&W so I wanted to see if this is normal in others' experiences. When I buy from my local roaster, there's some variation but much less than this.
