Going for MRI tomorrow so nervous!!!
I posted a couple of months ago. Had discharge from my nipple - only happened once. Ultrasound and mammogram didn't show anything that would have caused it - so now having MRI. So nervous!!!! Any tips for me?

I'm looking into vbeam - how long did it take you to recover? And did you do during a time of year that you were not going to be outside in sun? Just trying to figure how/when to schedule.
I am considering vbeam - but I have facial and ocular rosacea. Little nervous about laser for the eyes but wondering how vbeam was in general?
I am looking into V-Beam and someone with experience treating rosacea. Made an appointment with Brian Hilber but open to other recos!
Thanks!
I posted that I was recently diagnosed with ocular rosacea and MGD. I stopped taking my B complex vitamins and stopped eating dairy - both as of yesterday. Today, my eyelid inflammation is way down and I have barely needed to use eye drops - the pain and grittiness I have had in my eyes for a few weeks is so much better. Could it be from stopping B Vitamins and dairy? I do eat a lot of dairy because I have osteoporosis and need calcium. Curious if anyone has had experiences with either stopping B vitamins/dairy?
I have MGD/Blephartis caused by Ocular Rosacea. I cannot do IPL because I am prone to melasma. Dr is recommending RF/gland expression to help. Wondering if anyone has had success with RF? I still need to treat the Ocular Rosacea - just need some time to figure out if I want to go on doxycycline or gamble with IPL (going to talk to my dermatologist). Meanwhile, I booked RF treatment in a week and need to decide if it's worth the $.
I've recently been diagnosed with ocular rosacea and clogged eye oil glands. Primary way of addressing had been oral antibiotics for 2-3 months which has own set of possible bad side effects. New treatment that has great success is IPL as it deals with the vascular issues. However, I am prone to melasma. I have some on my face but it's not bad at all and I deal with it. Vitamin C serum has lightened some of it. Has anyone had IPL done and did their melasma get worse? I guess I have to decide which I can live with - take antibiotics and have possible gut issues or ipl and have possibel melasma flare??
I'm so confused! I posted yesterday that the optometrist I saw said I have ocular rosacea (not in the eye but the eyelid and skin below lash line). He recommends a cream for my cheeks to treat rosecea which he hopes will migrate upwards to help eye area, a steroid drop to calm inflammation and if that doesnt help he says antibiotics will work...and then he recommends Radio Frequency to unclog glands. I am not a candidate for IPL because of melasma.
2nd Dr (opthamologist) I saw today says he's not sure I have ocular rosecea and he says treatment for the MGD and rosacea would be the same. He wants me to start out using XDemvy drops because even though I don't have mites, he says XDemvy works really well to calm inflammation - says it's a low risk treatment and after 6 weeks can evaluate next steps. He says he wouldn't try antibiotics yet and would rather see if the drops work. He mentioned Lipiflow to unclog glands but again he says let's start with the drops. He says I am not producing much oil - he squeezed the glands and nothing really came out.
I do have appt with my dermatologist next week and I'm hoping she can tell me whether I have ocular rosecea!
Not sure what to do right now. Anyone use XDemvy? I've read it burns eyes alot!!

I have dry eyes/MGD -- discovered when I had chalazion recently. Only very mild clogged glands but not producing any oil really. One Dr (optometrist) says I have ocular rosacea (not in the eye but the eyelid and skin below lash line). I was just diagnosed with ocular rosacea. It's the eyelid and skin below my eye. I'm so depressed. I cannot have IPL because I have melasma - so I guess I need to take antibitocs? I'm 63yo and just so bummed. What has worked for you?
So I have mild clogged glands that led to a chalazion. Cause is thickened oil from stopping HRT (drop in hormones). I'm already on Omega 3 and have been doing warm compresses for the past month. It has improved but I also have some mild redness/inflammatio of the eyelids. The dr is recommending RF treatments OR oral antibiotics. I'm a little concerned about taking the oral antibiotic because or potential gut side effects so was thinking of trying RF
But now I've been reading that probing is the only thing that works and I should not do RF?
Any personal experiences or advice is appreciated!!
I have been dealing with a chalazion for a month now and it is slowly getting better. Have clogged oil glands. Went to a new dr today because my previous opthamologist is close to retiring. New dr (optometrist) looked at glands, eyes etc - said I have mild clogging, some eyelid inflammation and that my eyes are not too dry. My primary concern is dealing with clogged glands. I already take Omega-3 supplements and have been doing warm compresses. He recommended I could try doxycycline -- though I'm not sure I want to be on antibiotic for 1-2 months as it can cause GI issues. I'm 63yo and don't want to upset my GI. I read that Azithromycin can help but you're on it for much shorter time. Has anyone take that?
He also recommended Radiofrequency to heat up eyes and then unclog glands...has anyone done that with success? I know it's costly and I would need 3-4 sessions.
So need to decide if I try antibiotic first or just do the RF treatment
I posted recently...had bloody nipple discharge (one time); went for mammo and ultrasound and they didn't show anything that would have caused the discharge. My gyn sent me to a breast specialist to see if further testing should be done. Just saw her....she did exam and didn't feel anything, squeezed and no discharge. The discharge has not happened again, just that one time. Dr said I could do one of two things depending on my comfort-level. I could have MRI but she said sometimes MRIs show too much - things we don't need to know about also. But if I wanted to have MRI I could. Or, since it hasn't happened again and the tests didn't show anything, she said I could watch and wait - have ultrasound again in 6 months and just be vigilant about seeing if I have any breast changes, discharge again etc.
Not sure which to do.....MRIs freak me out and do cause anxiety for me, but am I better off having one??
Has anyone tried these treatments who have hyperpigmenation? I'm Fitzpatrick IV and do have hyperpigmentation and some melasma. But I have eye inflammation, recurring chalazions and want to explore IPL. Looking for those who have had experience with this.
I'm very relieved - they did not see anything on ultrasound/mammo that would have caused the bloody discharge I had the other day.
This is an imaging center I have been going to for over 10 years so they have all of my prior images.
They did see a cluster of very small cysts in each breast that they want to watch so I have to go back eveyr 6 months. Likely benign but since they are new they want to watch it. I had been on HRT briefly Dec-March so the cysts are probably from the hormones I took. HRT and going off of it has been a nightmare for me.
So I'm relieved. I'll take the 6 month follow up.
I had the bloody nipple discharge over the weekend.
Saw GYN today and she did not feel any lump and I'm going tomorrow for ultrasound and mammogram. Will wait at the appointment while drs. review the tests.
So I should know tomorrow afternoon. Still anxious but this time tomorrow I at least will know.
I am 63yo and have a lot of strange symtoms lately that I'm wondering if thyroid issue -- anxiety, excessive sweating/heat intolerance, one hand shakses sometimes and now I have hunger pains at odd times - waking up at 4am starved, hungry 2 hours after I finish a very good breakfast. My tsh is normal (1.7) but my T4 free was a little high (tested twice - once was 1.89 and other was 1.69). what other tests should i ask for?
