Therapist told me I need to practice gratitude instead of thinking about my problems

Trigger warning this post describes violence

went to a therapist due to chronic stress and he basically told me to just focus on gratitude instead of being depressed. There are people starving in Africa type advice.

It was really shitty bc it was my first time seeing a therapist in like 6 years. I survived the troubled teen industry and my therapist there was emotionally and physically abusive . So going to therapy in general gave me flashbacks and for example I won’t enter a therapists office if they have a black couch or if they have a sign like “today I choose joy”

Crisp bread is disgusting

This is probably the most trivial complaint ever but I just want to say it

A lot of people were raving about how crisp bread is only 30 calories and tastes like bread

But when I tried it, it tasted like a cardboard box. I tried everything on it, hummus, peanut butter etc

It’s nasty. That’s it lol that’s my complaint.

Need to move my pool party somewhere, are there public Pools around campus ?

I was planning to throw a pool party right now but highlands Reno delayed opening their pool

If you saw a post earlier about someone’s birthday that’s me lol. We have a pool table and
Does anyone know if there’s a public pool in Reno or like other places around campus where someone can move an impromptu pool party?

Why are so many medications not vegan?

For example, when I last had strep throat the antibiotics had gelatin in them, but the infection was so bad I had to take it I couldn’t “wait it out” it was starting to get hard to breath.
Or more recently I found out that the flu shot is made with chicken eggs. But I still get the flu shot every year because I need it.
Why is it like this?

Any students/staff/faculty want to come to my birthday party?

Hi, so I realize this is probably unhinged/crazy or weird but I am a PhD student from a different university who is here as a summer researcher and I really haven’t had the chance to meet anyone outside of the lab.

On May 29 I turn 23. I want to have a party on May 30 but I don’t want to celebrate alone.

I was thinking of having a pool party at my student apartment complex , highlands Reno at 3 pm on Saturday May 30.
But if anyone has any other ideas lmk!
