Bass fishing opportunities

My partner and I will be moving to state college for their new job at the end of the summer and I’m an avid bass fisher. I have heard the juniata and little juniata rivers run near there, but haven’t been yet. I’m also into lake fishing as I have a little inflatable kayak. Where are the local hot spots? Also would be interested in making a fishing buddy or two!
Thank you for sharing your local knowledge!

Capital/downtown area fishing?

I work in the capital area, and am an avid fisher, but I tend to fish in Mechanicsburg/carlisle. I have been wanting to try the Susquehanna for ever, but I don’t know where to begin. Has anyone tried fishing the Susquehanna right near the capital? Like near the walnut street bridge. I thought maybe it’d be fun to try it on my lunch break!
Anyone had any luck?

What in the heck is in this creek with me??

I’m fishing in a smallish creek in central Pennsylvania, and for the last two days something big has been in the water with me. It’s always on the other side of the creek so I can’t see what it is. It’s BIG, whatever it is. Any guesses? I’m thinking either a catfish, a carp, or a big muskie. In addition to the splashing there’s often tons of huge bubbles. I never see any wake like from a beaver or muskrat or whatever.

19”/3lb. Either my PB or second place. I caught another big one before I got a scale.

Hooked her on the Rebel Pop-R which is just about all I ever use in this creek, because it does so well. She seemed pretty tired even right after I hooked her, and exhausted when I got her in, so I’m wondering if she just spawned or something. I made sure to take my time releasing her and making sure she was ok before letting her swim away. What a thrill!!

Oh no, not the Choots! (Chucks+boots)

Found on fb marketplace. They’re even in my size! But not for $50!
Please comment if you have a better name for these monstrosities.
