Never seen this before. Was already a bit overrun with attackers and the academy produced two more, 96 and 95 so I signed both. Then the idiot manager decides he’s switching from 3-4-3 to 4-4-2.
So I released one attacker who was 95 ability at age 20 but the wrong playing style and hadn’t really cracked the first team. Contract was up this summer anyway so I just released him. The manager was dismayed (he thought the guy still had potential for the future). But the entire squad was demoralised (-2 happiness) by this. Thankfully it’s like week 45 so they’ll be ok by the new season. But won’t be doing that again!
These days he is a rather charming presenter of programmes on rail travel, with a rather quirky taste for colourful clothes. Yet I can remember back in the old days when he was a right-wing fire-brand, even working under Thatcher. Which is the true version? My suspicion is that he was made into a bogey man, and is actually a genuinely nice guy? Any thoughts?
If I were someone who had never used Patreon but wanted to join in order to support this project and for any additional perks… could someone please explain it to this elder millennial like he’s five years old?
I don’t think I ever plan on using it to publish anything but all the guidance I can find seems to be about using it to reach an audience or build a brand. I just want it so I can be the audience, please.
Update: joined. Dead easy. I was definitely overthinking it. It’s a lot like Substack from what I can tell so far. If anyone wants to recommend any other interesting creators to follow please let me know! Thanks all
Hope this is ok to post, I’m not diagnosed but I believe it’s coming. Had a blood test 6 weeks ago that was ‘abnormal’ (but I don’t understand the actual numbers) and waiting for my second test in 2 more weeks. I’ve been healthy and well eating lots of gluten for 40 years but have a diagnosed Coeliac parent (diagnosed in their 40s) and sibling (subsequently diagnosed in their teens) so strong family history.
Last couple of years I’ve had minor skin issues, wind/bloating, mouth ulcers, nothing major but in the last few weeks suddenly I feel rotten a lot. Persistent headaches, high blood pressure, fatigue, nausea, gastro issues (although no D/V), which is what got the Dr to order the blood test. I’m not sure if it’s psychosomatic but since the first test came back ‘abnormal’, I feel ill most days after spending 40 years thinking I’d dodged it. Twice I’ve had a couple of beers (literally <5 units) and felt like a trainwreck the next day.
I do realise that even positive bloods might not be conclusive and I have a wait ahead of me to confirm or deny, during which I’m supposed to keep eating my normal diet but I’m really concerned at how much this has accelerated in such a short time. Would this be normal for Coeliac to go from 0-60 in a few weeks, or am I doing this to myself through anxiety and stress?
In this boiling weather, the generator is at least trying to send me cool vibes. Nice variety as well, from blues to shoegaze and ambient electronica, via whatever subgenre of rock Mercury Rev would fall under.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’s all round as well. Very satisfying.
Looking for face value, £50 each. Mate can’t come anymore but got us tickets for Ally Pally instead so just want to recoup what I spent. Unfortunately used SeeTickets not Ticketmaster so they don’t have a built-in resell option but I’ve got the e-tickets now which can be transferred, will use PayPal goods and services.
Wasn’t sure if there was a sticky or thread for ticket buying/selling.
