Did anyone else search how to cancel peacock subscription way too late?

I only wanted Peacock for one reality show. I forgot all about it until I saw another monthly charge this morning

Now I'm wondering how many people keep paying just because they forget after the finale. Has this happened to anyone else?

Is brain model software worth it?

i recently tested a brain model tool on Windows 11 for a side project. The simulations worked, but imports were buggy and larger brain model files became noticeably slow.

Is this common across most platforms, or did I just pick a bad one?

Is deleting old online accounts actually worth the effort?

I've been trying to clean up my digital footprint and realized I probably have dozens of old accounts from forums, shopping sites, random apps, and services I haven't used in years.

Some of them are easy to delete, but others make it surprisingly difficult or don't even have an obvious delete option.

Does regularly deleting old accounts actually improve your privacy in any meaningful way, or is it mostly about reducing the chances of future data breaches? Curious if people here actively do this or just let inactive accounts sit

is smart water bottle worth buying?

I've been trying to drink more water during work and keep seeing ads for smart water bottles that track your intake and remind you to hydrate.

Do they actually help build the habit, or is a regular bottle just as good? If you've used one, which model would you recommend and was it worth the price?

antihistamine for cats for mild itching?

my indoor cat has been scratching around her ears for a few days so I started looking for antihistamine for cats

She's eating and acting normally, so it doesn't seem like an emergency. I'm just confused about whether its something owners should ever use before seeing the vet.

Has anyone's vet recommended an antihistamine for cats, and did it help?

how to stretch calves routine before morning walks?

Ive been looking into how to stretch calves before my morning walks.I usually walk for about 45 minutes before work. I've tried wall stretches and step stretches, but my calves still feel tight the next day. I'm probably overthinking this, but I'm not sure if my form is wrong or if I'm stretching at the wrong time.

Anyone know what i do wrong?

how does Google Voice work for privacy?

I'm looking into Google Voice for a second number. I've read a few guides, but I'm still not clear on how does Google Voice work when it comes to privacy.

Does Google Voice work mean everything is just tied back to your Google account?

are wearable health monitoring devices worth it?

I've been researching wearable health monitoring devices to keep a better eye on my sleep and heart rate. I compared the Apple Watch, Garmin, and Whoop, but the data doesn't always match. Sleep scores and recovery numbers are surprisingly different between them, which makes me question how useful wearable health monitoring devices really are.

For those using wearable health monitoring devices every day, which one has been the most reliable for you?

how to help a dog with separation anxiety?

I've been trying to figure out how to help a dog with separation anxiety because I'm running out of ideas. We adopted our rescue about 5 months ago and things are great until I leave for work.

The second I grab my keys he starts pacing. I've tried leaving the TV on, frozen Kongs, longer walks before I leave, and even sitting outside for a few minutes before coming back in. Sometimes he's fine for 10 minutes, then he starts barking and whining according to the camera.
I keep reading guides about how to help a dog with separation anxiety, but they mention the same things which we tried and they didnt help. I honestly don't know what could actually work..

What finally helped your dog with separation anxiety?

is Hume pod reviews worth trusting?

I've been reading Hume Pod reviews because I'm thinking about buying one for general wellness tracking.

The problem is that the Hume Pod reviews seem to be all over the place. Some people love it, others say it's not very useful after a few weeks.

Has anyone here actually used one? Did the Hume Pod reviews match your experience?

how to stay safe online?

I'm trying to learn how to stay safe online for a few weeks now and I think I've overwhelmed myself. I have a regular office job, nothing exciting going on but I've been using the internet like it's 2009 and I only recently realized that..
I've read that a VPN alone isn't enough, that browser fingerprinting works even in private mode, and that DNS leaks can undo basically everything. I set up ProtonMail, switched to Firefox with uBlock Origin, and downloaded a VPN I found recommended. I have no idea if I configured it right.
Most guides on how to stay safe online seem aimed at either total beginners or people hiding from governments. Nothing in between for someone who just wants to be reasonably careful.
Is DNS over HTTPS worth enabling if I'm already on a VPN? And is switching to Linux actually necessary or am I overthinking this?

what is software security and how do I even know if an app is safe?

Hi, maybe someone can help me with this? I've been trying to figure out what is software security actually means for regular apps I use daily. I'm not very technical, but I've been getting more careful about what I install.

I've read that it has something to do with how apps handle your data and whether they have known vulnerabilities. But I can't tell if that's something I can check myself or if I just have to trust the developer.

What should a non technical person actually look for when deciding if an app is secure?

dog vomiting yellow bile every morning is it empty stomach?

My 4 year old miniature schnauzer has been dog vomiting yellow bile almost every morning for two weeks, always before breakfast. I've read it's usually bilious vomiting syndrome, but two weeks feels long for it to just keep happening.
She seems fine otherwise normal energy, eating well, no blood. I've started giving her a small snack before bed but I'm not sure it's helping yet.
The vet is booked out 10 days. Does this warrant pushing for an urgent slot, or is the bedtime snack usually enough to fix it?

Can cats eat avocado or watermelon? My cats are obsessed with whatever I'm eating

my two cats have been going crazy every time I have fruit or snacks nearby. Yesterday one of them tried to steal a piece of avocado off my plate, and today the other was pawing at my watermelon.
I know can cats eat avocado is a big concern since I've heard it might be toxic, but I'm not 100% sure. And can cats eat watermelon seems less scary, but I don't know if it's safe either.
Has anyone dealt with this? I just want to make sure I'm not accidentally letting them snack on something dangerous. Would love to hear from people who've looked into whether cats can eat avocado or watermelon before I panic too much

is cat grass actually necessary or just a trendy thing?

I have two indoor cats (sisters, around 5 years old). They've been perfectly healthy their whole lives, eat vet recommended dry food, never had digestive issues. Which is why I'm questioning whether I actually need cat grass or if it's just something the pet industry has convinced everyone is essential.
My sister came over last weekend and was SHOCKED I don't grow cat grass for them. Made it sound like I was depriving them of something fundamental. Then I asked my coworker who's had cats for 15 years and she said she's never bought it once and her cats are completely fine.
I've read articles claiming cat grass helps with hairballs, vitamins, reducing vomiting, enrichment... but I've also seen vets say healthy cats on a complete diet don't need it at all. Neither of mine shows any of the behaviors that supposedly indicate a cat needs it. No excessive grooming, no real hairball issues, no chewing on houseplants.
Is cat grass actually necessary for indoor cats, or is it more of a nice optional thing that some cats like and others couldn't care less about?

My 10 year old mix recently had some heavy dental extractions done. The surgeon sent us home with 300mg capsules for his pain management. I gave him his first dose this morning with his breakfast, but I'm getting really concerned about the gabapentin for dogs side effects.
He is completely knocked out on his bed, and when he finally tried to get up to drink water a few minutes ago, his back legs were wobbling badly and he tripped over his own food bowl.
I've researched a lot on veterinary forums today, and I've read that mild sedation is expected at first. But seeing him stumble around the kitchen looking so out of it was scary. I tried calling my regular clinic to double check the dosage, but they were already closed.
Did any of you experience this specific reaction with your older dogs? Is this extreme wobbliness a standard reaction, or should I be looking for an emergency vet right now?
