Couldn’t help myself

Couldn’t help myself

Been loving my 1Zpresso ZP6 S for the special light roast pour over coffees that I adore. Been using my older Timemore S3 ESP for ‘general’ use in other brew methods but as I’ve been so impressed with 1Zpresso in actual ease of use and build quality I couldn’t help but add the K- Ultra to my gear. Just used it for the first time after calibrating to my zero preference and am so impressed with the result. Wonderful combo I have now in these two grinders.

Any nice floral /herbaceous peaberry lots out there?

As per title does anyone know of any nice floral /herbaceous peaberry lots out there?
I’ve had some fabulous ones in the past. To be used mainly in pour over set up.

Keep those wave filters structurally tight

Here’s a little tip I do for helping maintain structure to my wave filters. I find that the retail boxes or bags that these get stored in tend to allow the filters to spread out too much / wide so I store mine in suitable jars. My 155’s are in a bit of pottery I’ve got with a small metal tamper to hold them down and my 185‘s just stay down in this glass jar. I use Origami wave filters btw. I also take one from the center of the bundle rather than outside one.

Trying out Nostos for first time

Been trying new roasters recently and just got these two from Nostos. Obviously the wait for resting continues. Fortunately have a couple ready to go from Sweven now.
Anyone had these or other good experiences with Nostos?

Hario Neo Amber - nice match for Switch

Recent purchase is this Hario Neo and Switch base. Looks great together and also the Neo seems to complement the hybrid immersion brew. It really dumps the pour nice and fast when pressing the switch. I wasn’t keen on the dark olive green base that they provide with the Amber version so when not in the Switch Base I use this new black SS Loveramics Dripper Stand. It reminds me of a vinyl record 😊

My new Kalita Mino Yaki Wave - hole comparison FYI

Just received my new Kalita Wave Mino Yaki Sand Gray 155 dripper to go along with my other two. It’s beautiful and I thought it might interest people to see photos of the hole size comparison between the different versions. I’ve just brewed some ‘Ethiopia Bette Buna Grand Cru’ from SkyLark and it performed fabulously. Definitely no chance of stalling with this one (not that I’ve had any trouble with my other two in these photos). Super fast flow. ZP6 Special at 5.0 300ml 1:15 ratio - 2m 25s. Very smooth and flavoursome cup.

Pour Over Adjustable Stand Recommendations

I often see people using nice Pour Over Stands in their setups particularly in review videos etc.

I really like the black adjustable laboratory style type that hold V60 type drippers. There are a few random Chinese named ones on Amazon etc. but not sure of the quality and they seem to have huge bases that wouldn’t sit a top a coffee scale like for instance a Timemore basic.

Are there any that are particularly popular in the pour over community that I don’t know about? I’ve seen one that has lower holders that swing in and out of place for holding accessories. These interest me. Price not particularly a factor.

Has anyone else had this strange issue before with the Timemore black mirror basic 2 scale? Occasionally when I use this scale the touch controls activate just by hovering my finger over them about a centimetre away from surface. Really strange. I can sometimes fix the issue by switching it off and wiping down the surface with a damp cloth. which makes me think it could be a static issue. I have 2 Timemore Mini scales as well that have never had this issue.
