How much hands-on experience did you get in Women’s Health/OB/Gyn outpatient on rotations?

How many paps did you do? Supervised? Do you get to do any procedures under supervision like colposcopies? Seems like we only assist in paps and procedures (like an MA) and maybe towards the end of the six weeks we can do a few paps. I want to see if anyone was able to participate in procedures to see if it’s worth asking to give it shot (after seeing it of course). But honestly in this setting its mostly MA stuff and lots of admin work so I’m trying to see how I can make the most of it. Thanks!

AIO: Why are husbands the most resistant difficult people to exist?

For context he woke me up by turning on the light when he got home from work at 3am with our bedroom door open. The next day I politely asked that he close the door before turning on the light when he gets home so I don’t wake up. I keep it open so our dog can get water as he needs and more importantly in case our kiddo wakes up in the middle of the night. You know what he said? He said no bc he always does that and it rarely ever wakes me up. I was like this isn’t a big favor, you do close the door anyways it’s just switching the order in which you do it so I don’t wake up. I hate being woken up. Still rejected completely. Smh. I basically said I do this for him when I get home in the day and he’s sleeping to not wake him up. And then I said any other husband would honor the request. Probably a bit much but like cmon why does this have to be an argument? I’d like to hear from other husbands on here if they would also reject this. Am I overreacting? Am I in the wrong? Also he went to work and its been about 4 hours and no sorry text from him! This will probably linger until he decides to come up to me and be like “you done?” as if he did nothing.

Groupchats

Such a random thought but I’m not sure if this is just me that notices these things but I realize often in certain friend groupchats, people will send things that are important to them occurring in their daily lives and the other people don’t always acknowledge them but instead speak about themselves and what’s going on with them, and sometimes immediately after even if no one has spoken for a day. For instance, if someone sends a photo on vacation, I would think to heart the photo at the least and maybe make a comment about it. But the other folks will just send an irrelevant message or photo right after and ignore what that person send in the first place. Or if someone asks a question or shares their thoughts, it’s not always acknowledged. I feel like I try to acknowledge and make everyone feel seen/heard and I understand others might not be in the space or capacity but it kind of strikes me as selfish I guess? Its not always like this at time they will acknowledge the photo or message but it almost gets to the point where it feels like it’s a competition for attention. Idk maybe I’m thinking too much of it but it rubs me the wrong way. Sometimes I don’t want to send stuff cause I don’t get to pick and choose when I’ll be ignored, even if it’s like something special lol

Postpartum book recommendations for second time Pediatric PA mother

I want to get her something revolving self care that she can read but I don’t want it to be about the common sense stuff she already knows like what to expect and the medicine or like “Get good sleep go outside spend time with baby!” This will be her second daughter.

Chicken makes me sick

Had gastric sleeve in 2024. I can’t eat a few bites of chicken without feeling sick, uncomfortable, and sometimes nauseous. I have always loved chicken!!! Doesnt matter if its baked, airfried, grilled, or if I chew it a million times or if it’s boneless, skinless chicken thighs or chicken breast. I still feel sick. This doesn’t happen with red meat. Overall I still get reflux with anything I eat. What a struggle.

Any recs on running trails for longer runs? Preferably linear where I also don’t have to stop at intersections? I used to run at a 14 mile relatively linear trail called Flatwoods in Tampa. Have yet to find one similar in davie. I tried tree tops park and I don’t know if I’m in the wrong area of the park (the viewing tower area) but that was like a mile or so and so I ended up just running down the road along the cars. I looked up Pine Island Ridge which I read lead to tree tops and so I took the directions there and it led me straight to tree tops. I’m not a fan of winding trails. I also ran at vista view-out of the park back around the highway and back and it was like a 5k. Was looking into Linear Park Trail but also reading there are intersections and whatnot. I’ve been strongly considering the miami Half but would like to find a trail that is good enough to train on before registering. Thanks!
