Recommendations wanted

Apologies if these answers are easy to find, I’ve been trying to do research but it’s been difficult for reasons that will become clear-

I’m 26, and have problems with my working memory, as well as the fine motor skills in my hand. I cannot remember what I am doing, urgent tasks or problems, I write my thoughts in the sand of a beach, and the waves spill onto the shore and erase them virtually instantly. I have tried my notes app, I have tried specialised apps, I have tried pen and paper, I have tried physically attaching said pen and paper to me with a tether. Phone-based solutions are a problem because I can write stuff down to my heart’s content but this screen has a lot more distractions and things to do that often take precedent over me retroactively checking my notes. I do not want a “dumb phone” because having my phone be smart is very useful with respect to my conditions . Pen and paper is difficult because I cannot write neatly enough to reread my notes, as well as a host of other reasons.

I think a retro pda could be useful for me. Looking at Palm, I have faith in my motor skills to use the graffiti system to turn my scrawls into type. I appreciate I may be warned it’s unreliable or finnicky but I still want to try it out on the off-chance it works for me. I don’t want internet connection or really any features at all, I just need a system that lets me input characters using the graffiti thing, and the ability to sort my notes into folders. Emphasis on the graffiti thing because I don’t think using a stylus to type on a digital keyboard would be very compatible with me.

Does anyone have any recs or could give me any pointers? It’s quite difficult living like a goldfish and to have a physical working memory could be a gamechanger.

Ty!

I made my room hotter to make it colder

TLDR: Running a dehumidifier with the window shut may make you feel colder even if it heats the room up.
Room was 32°c but “felt like” 42°c.
Ran dehumidifier, room heated to 33°c but “felt like” 33°c.

I’m on the spectrum and one of my quirky little obsessions is humidity, originating from a damp problem in my bedroom.

I own loads of hygrometers (things that show you the relative humidity in a room) to prevent damp, and a 12l dehumidifier. I found that in the winter, when I went in the room and it was very humid (>60%) that the room would feel FREEZING. I ran the dehumidifier, got the humidity to like 40%, and the room felt amazingly warm (relative to how it was before I ran the dehumidifier).

I went down a rabbit hole the other day and thought maybe the inverse would be true, because everyone who defends themselves against Americans etc saying “29 degrees, that’s not even hot!” references how the humidity of the British Isles makes it hotter.

So I begrudgingly closed the window despite it being cooler outside at the time, and turned the dehumidifier on. I started at 32°c, at 75% relative humidity, which was absolutely unbearable, and let it run for a few hours. I ended on 33°c and 35% relative humidity, because the air was being heated by the condenser in the dehumidifier and the window was not open to let the hot air escape.

It felt SO MUCH BETTER. I later looked at this chart, and saw that what I started with, 75% RH + 32°c, had a heat index output (the “feels like” temperature) of 42°c, and what I ended up with (33°c and 35%) had a heat index of 33°c.

Maybe don’t do this if you don’t have a hygrometer (Though they’re very cheap on Amazon, etc) because if your room isn’t humid to begin with it’s a waste of time.

Human sweat cools us down when it evaporates, but at humidities of 55% and more, the sweat begins evaporating less efficiently, and this makes a huge difference to what heat feels like.

Hero 52 (very rough) outlines

Messed with the image’s properties + then outlined the parts that stood out. I recon she’s a Yurei judging from the Chinese name leak

Edit: I was pretty close!

RugRants

This is so silly but I discovered this group today and I was reminded of this.

When I was about 13 on Facebook, I’d come across posts quite regularly where people were saying nobody born in the 2000’s knew the Rugrats, and it would irrationally irritate me every time. Is this niche or is this common, because it was so (bafflingly) irritating to teen me.

Found on the ground, potted it.

Hey guys! I was walking around town a couple of weeks ago and found this guy on the floor outside a book shop. I think somebody has bought/moved a plant and a section has fallen off.

When I found it, it had no flowers, and had begun growing some decent roots out of its stem. It was clear to me from looking at the end of the stem that it looked to have been part of a wider plant before it was snapped/cut off.

I brought it home and it remained un-potted for about a week, and about 4 days ago I managed to gather some compost and a pot and potted it up. The pot has holes at the bottom and it sits on a little tray.

It’s clearly a succulent and after killing many succulents in my teen years by overwatering and not giving enough drainage I am yet to water the plant because the compost was already quite moist. I have a terracotta stake slow watering thingy I was going to put in depending on if you guys think that’s a good idea.

The cutting seems to be doing very well since I added it to the compost and there seems to be no signs of root shock(?). Any insight about what type of plant this is / care instructions would be appreciated! Also, the chances of this plant being native are less than 1%, but for some context, I live in the northwest UK (so if anyone wants to advise on care, bear in mind I may not be able to acquire things that are available in North America)
