Would you go again?

My friends and I (all ~30y) have never been to Disneyland or D23, but are lifelong WDW fans, and have always wanted to go to both.

We're considering doing a joint Disneyland/D23 (potentially also Oogie Boogie, depending on timing) trip in 2028, but given what I'm seeing I'm a bit hesitant to go cross country for what seems to be kind of a mess.

For context, I'm also a longtime congoer, having been to (and worked at) conventions ranging from 200 to 200,000 attendees, and D23 reminds me of early stage cons who grew too big for the teams running them, when they should have worked with an actual con management agency.

Which brings us to the title of the post - would you go again, if nothing changes? Is it worth dealing with the unorganized chaos? All thoughts are welcome!

Art of Disney Community

Over the years, I've collected a bunch of prints of Art of Disney, from the Festival of the Arts and the shops. Does anyone know of an online community of other fans of the art?

It'd be cool to see how people have displayed their art, and maybe even trade some.

Would anyone be interested in this community?

More NYC Movie Tix Available!

I was just checking AMC and saw a new showing added for Wednesday July 29. About half the seats are taken, but still decent availability.

This also probably means there's more availability on other days.

Good luck!

How did Verin sense that Trayal was empty?

> “He came out as you see him. Will you touch him, Verin?”

> Verin gave her a long look, then rose and strode to Trayal. He did not move as she laid her hands on his wide chest, not even a flicker of an eye to acknowledge her touch. With a sharp hiss, she jerked back, staring up at him, then whirled to face the Elders. “He is . . . empty. This body lives, but there is nothing inside it. Nothing.”

How did Verin do that in a Stedding, if she couldn't channel?

Big Thunder Queue is Dangerously Hot

We rode Big Thunder tonight for the first time since the refurb, and I had hoped that they'd take the time to improve the airflow in the Big Thunder queue - nope. At 10:15pm, it was well over 100 degrees with incredibly high humidity in the queue, significantly worse than the general air around the park.

I'm not sure what about this queue design in particular traps heat in this way, but it's dangerous. Everyone I saw was literally dripping sweat, and I know of at least 1 person who passed out in line.

It feels like Disney had an opportunity to properly climate control this space, but chose not to, and I can't help but think it's because the Lightning Lane queue skips straight to ramp and the air conditioned loading dock.

Was at 60+ units, then took a month off

I was doing 60+ units a week, but had to take a month off due to traveling. Definitely put on some vacation weight, and am ready to restart.

Does anyone here have experience on how to taper myself back in? Not medical advice, I still plan to talk to a pharmacist, more just sharing personal experiences.

Why do they cover the Destiny's Pride Lands Windows?

During the Art tour, we got to see the restaurant with the windows open, giving fantastic aft views of the ship (including Spider-Man).

Does anyone here know why they keep them covered with that orange shade? Prior to this tour I thought it was a fake window with something behind it.

No more bands, now you can use Face ID or make a 6 digit PIN.

Available in English, French, Japanese, Spanish.

Only one face can be added, so the PIN is the only option to share. THAT SAID I opted for the Face ID because really anyone can see the pin you type in each time, it's very obvious.

I asked a TM and they said it's been around about 3 weeks. They also helped me switch from PIN to Face ID if you're curious, though you do switch to a new locker.
