rumic world at the art of manga exhibition
i just went to the “art of manga” exhibition at the brooklyn museum in new york! was really happy to see this exhibit come to the east coast after its initial stint in san francisco. this is the same exhibition that takahashi flew out to see in sf
even just seeing her name hung up made me cry . it was really special
the titles focused on were MAO, mermaid saga, rinne, & some ranma + inuyasha. i would’ve loved to see urusei yatsura featured as that was her debut, but im sure the curation / behind the scenes team would’ve included it if they could. the only thing with lum in the exhibition was a copy of the dancing star fan book in the library
also worth noting that all of the merch in the gift shop is the exact same as what they had in sf: down to all of it being designed with “de Young museum”. nothing has been reprinted with brooklyn but that’s ok ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
