OEBB What Am I Doing Wrong? - Add Via Jumps The Price

I am trying to understand OEBB and figure out the best way to buy tickets for a trip in November.

Two adults and a child from München Hbf to Venezia Santa Lucia with a stop in Innsbruck Hbf. I know the exact trains and times and there's a 4 hour gap where we can check out Innsbruck before continuing on.

If I add the "via" (which I assume is like DB's stopover) for Innsbruck Hbf, the same trains is €316 for 2nd with no saver discount.
If I search the legs separately, the sparschiene rate appears and starts at €25.80 + €32.00.

If I set up the same trip with the stopover in DB, the total is €90 as a Super Sparpreis rate.

Is there any benefit to booking the trip all at once or just book the legs separately?

Thank you

Likely Work Trip to Munich

I will likely get to go on a work trip to Munich in November. That's not the time of year that I would pick, but beggars and choosers and all. This is the first time that either my wife or I will have been to Europe and we plan to fly them out after my work is done.

We'd like to visit some of Germany and some of Italy over a week+, but have no specific plans on where. Likely fly out of Milan, but that's not set in stone. We'd prefer to take trains over buses or renting a car.

We just want to see whatever we can: the Alps, castles, food, seas, culture, maybe skiing (family, not après-ski)...anything.

This may be a once in a lifetime thing for us. Please, what suggestions would you give someone like us? Thank you.

900W DC Smart Charger with Pecron F3000

I am attempting to find a DC charger that can provide an input to my Pecron F3000. I am able to test out a 900W LiFePO4 charger and grabbed a SB50 to XT60 adapter to try it out.

When I connect it all up, the charger always reads Full and doesn't provide a charge. I have to assume that it's one of the safety features since it's not connected straight to a battery, but would rather go to a power station.

Is there something that I'm missing that I can try to get this setup working?

How to Motorize Billy Bookshelves

I'm a disappointment of a MechE since this is something that I should already know. My career took me a very different direction and I don't have much actual mechanical experience.

I installed a heat pump water heater and that called for more airflow in the utility closet. So instead of just switching the door to a louvered one, I used four of the 15in IKEA Billy bookshelves to build a rolling bookcase. It's on a track at the top for fall over protection and is on heavy duty castors with a 2x4 frame. It works well, but is heavy.

I'd eventually like to motorize it somehow and either keep all of the components hidden underneath or behind it since it's just a utility closet after all.

It would only need to move left<>right, parallel to the wall with about 40in of travel. I plan to keep it slow for safety and control, as well as hopefully simplicity.

I'm leaning towards a dual rack and pinion or threaded rod setup with the rack/linear slide on the back of the shelves. I can't seem to find good DIY resources yet. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thank you

Anyone at Yellowstone have a spare galaxy watch charger that I could buy?

We're currently in Gardiner and coming into the park tomorrow. I just realized that I forgot the charger.

It's not a big issue and I'll probably just pick up a cheap one for time otherwise.

Which card to get?

I'm in STL and there's very few direct flights aside from Southwest here. I've always been willing to pay a bit more for direct, so I'm likely still stuck with SW.

With all of the changes, it seems like getting their card makes sense.

The only thing I'm concerned with is getting my family of 3 to sit together with the second preference being an earlier boarding group.

Which card and/or upgrade strategy makes the most sense now? Can I rely on a card benefit to get me there or is this a basic seat with upgrade situation?

Lens recommendation for Yellowstone on a borrowed Rebel T7?

We're going to be taking a Yellowstone/Tetons family vacation for a bit more than a week this summer. A friend of ours offered to let me borrow his Rebel T7 for the trip since he rarely uses it. I've had a varied amateurish background in photography, but never got a DSLR or mirrorless myself.

My expectations are just to have some fun with it and see if I can get a few decent shots while we hike around. The only issue is that he only has the included 18-55mm lens that it came with and if I'm going to bring a dedicated camera, that feels like a waste of space at that point. I'd like to get an inexpensive zoom lens to at least give myself a fighting chance a lucky shot. I'll probably just give the lens to our friend as a thank you.

I'd like to stay around $100-150 for a used lens, and if I've read everything right, that probably puts it around the stock 75-300mm or the EF-S 55-250mm IS (non-STM). I'd love to have something bigger, but I doubt that there's anything in that range.

Any suggestions?
