CupcakKe sings PINKY UP remix on tour

I believe the original remix was fan-made by ranvision_official (tiktok), and CupcakKe included it as part of her setlist on The BakKery Tour. This particular video is from the Portland stop of the tour (credit to rightful owner)

Serious question: how would you feel about an actual Katseye x CupcakKe collab? 👀

Yoonchae just became the most followed member on Instagram (One year ago, she was the least followed)

The growth is insane. Last year, she was consistently the least followed on Instagram. It seems like, after she turned 18, her follower count started to rise rapidly. Her personal IG post for her 18th bday has over 4 million likes, and her posts consistently average above 1 million likes. And out of the five active members, her growth was by far the least impacted in the beginning of Manon's hiatus, when the other girls were getting mass unfollowed.

What factors do you think played into Yoonchae's rise in popularity? Some factors I can think of:

  • she had just turned into a legal adult
  • fans always call her the least "problematic" (largely due to being the least outspoken I guess)
  • many Kpop fans have a more favorable bias towards Korean idols
  • her engagement rate has always been high, it's almost like she knows how to game the IG algorithm

Looks like Missy finally read the screenshots 😂

You’ll never believe who wished Naisha a happy birthday!

To keep this post somewhat related to katseye, I have a discussion topic: Missy and Naisha seem to be considered two of the worst enemies of eyekons. Why do you think that’s so, and do you think the criticisms against them are justified? Let’s talk about it!

People seem to ignore the fact that Pop Star Academy was directed by Nadia Hallgren

(sorry repost to include picture)

Clearly, Pop Star Academy has left a bad taste for many of us, and we can all agree that HxG is ultimately the bad guy for manufacturing the drama in the survival show itself. The executives who get bashed the most for the PSA narratives are those who were visible on-screen in the show, such as Mitra, Bang Si-Hyuk, and Missy. However, people seem to never mention director Nadia Hallgren when pointing fingers at who to blame for the "evil editing".

Nadia Hallgren is an award-winning, Emmy-nominated filmmaker who is known for her fly-on-the-wall style of capturing behind-the-scenes footage. The fact that we still heavily reference PSA in heated discussions to this day should show you the crazy legacy and impact of her cinematography / directorial prowess.

Ultimately, the director should be held the most responsible for choosing to include scenes like:

  • Manon saying she won't go to rehearsal (before catching covid)
  • the girls venting their frustrations about Manon during the group therapy session
  • Lara's silent laugh when Manon passed by, and Manon saying that Sophia gave her a dirty look
  • Naisha and Adela discussing Manon's work ethic after they got eliminated

It's easy for viewers to just blame Mitra due to her on-screen role in manufacturing drama for reality television. But the director is seemingly not faulted enough for choosing to include the above clips that perpetuate the bad narratives, such as the lazy allegations and mean girl allegations.

A very noteworthy quote by Nadia in this TIME article reads:

>One reason why I personally wanted to do this show was I have a particular interest in human potential and what it takes to perform at the level of elite performers...I was very curious about the process of being able to take someone with a very low skill level and grow them to a place where they are an expert, especially in a really short time.

So apparently, it was Nadia's intention, as the director, to give Manon an underdog edit in this docuseries. We can discuss further on whether we think the overall edit is inherently racist, but do keep in mind that Nadia is a Black woman herself. Nevertheless, HxG does play a role in greenlighting the narratives portrayed in the storyline, so HxG executives are not necessarily in the clear either and thus should still be held accountable.

“TEA” spoilers?

Looking at all the mentions of tea…is this hinting that their next single is called TEA? And are we getting a Cardi feature?? She took pics with Katseye backstage, and her outfit/hair seem to match Katseye’s current aesthetic as well!

Could be totally reaching, but it’s fun to speculate! 🫖
