RPG game recommendations: Clair Obscur, BG3, Fortune’s Weave, something else?

I have much more limited time to play games during this phase of life, but I still enjoy playing 30-60 minutes when I can. I have Steam and a Switch 2.

I grew up loving and playing Dragon Quest, Pokemon, FF7, 8, 9, 10, 12, even played some 14. I have been playing Pokopia this year and really like that it’s chill and easy to pick up and put down.

I plan to buy the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake but was also looking to get into a “story” type game. I was hoping to get something that is engaging but not insanely deep combat wise and easy to pick up and put down. I would prefer something a little more focused than super open world games that require 100+ hours.

Persona isn’t my thing. I don’t like the social sim stuff.

Any recommendations for outstanding RPG games on Steam or switch 2?

Switch 2 or PC for Resident Evil 7,8,9

I’m considering picking these up on Switch 2.

Has anyone played them using gyro and a pro controller on Switch 2? Do they perform well? I feel like native gyro, when it works, is smoother than Steam input.

Challenge Build Ideas

I’d like to run a low level Prisoner build to complete the game and then be able to co op later.

I plan on using weapons that I’ve already met the str/dex for.

Which of these do you think would be the most fun?

No leveling Prisoner.

RL30 Prisoner

RL50 Prisoner +10

RL60 Prisoner +12

How do you balance Vigor and Int? What is the lowest int to use several sorceries effectively? Appreciate any ideas!

Games that respect your time

I grew up playing Valve games and absolutely love them. In fact, I still play TF2 and L4D2 to this day.

My favorite things about classic Valve (CS 1.6/CSS, DoD, TF2) is the drop-in and drop-out non-obligations. I also appreciate the lack of complex grindy systems. Your skill improves over time, that’s the point.

Any suggestions for games that are approachable for 30-45 minute sessions and that don’t feel like a second job? Because of my aim training and FPS background I prefer FPS games but am open to other ideas.

Risk of Rain 2 is an example that was perfect but I wish I could save mid run.

Heroes of Hammerwatch 2, Cinderia, or Shape of Dreams

Usually a MnK guy playing FPS but looking for some recommendations for top down games. These three seemed really cool.

Which would you recommend for the best mechanical skill expression and fun? Which plays best on controller? Which is your favorite?

Looking for FPS games with great lore/story

So I played Returnal and thought the atmosphere and storytelling were great. Don’t know how a game can top it but still looking.

However, I’m a big FPS guy after spending a ton of time on aim trainers. Any good FPS roguelites that have great stories, characters, atmosphere, or lore?

Here are some I’ve enjoyed:

- Abyssus : really fun gunplay and gameplay. The atmosphere is darkish and foreboding

- Oddcore : just started this one and it’s really weird and creepy. It’s great. The gunplay is also really fun! Highly recommend

- Witchfire : played for ten minutes a few years ago and haven’t gone back. Maybe this one? I mention because I’m sure it will come up

- Gunfire Reborn : cool game, kind of meh story and characters to me.

- Deadlink : second to none in gameplay. Very fun. Cool cyberpunk atmosphere.

- RoboQuest : S tier gameplay. Don’t care for the story or the art style, still played it a ton in spite of that.

- Sulfur : really cool art style and humorous. Compared to Deadlink, RoboQuest, Witchfire the gameplay is really simplistic.

Any games im missing? Really excited for Rogue Core coming out.

I rotate between an EspTiger and Artisan Zero Mid, and usually average Jade/Master scores on Voltaic S5. I have an adjustable desk and really try to optimize my setup ergonomically.

I recently got a Skypad 3.0 and a sleeve. I’m surprised about how much more comfortable it is to use and how smooth the experience has been. Obviously my scores have taken a hit.

I had a few questions:

1.) is it true that you develop better mouse control while training on a glass pad?

2.) in practice, how much difference is jade and master in a match of CS2 or the Finals? Is feeling more comfortable worth sacrificing some scores?
