Don't tell the others

u/spec3_ — 4 days ago

IDK what title to put... I would really appreciate your feedback

Never posted something like this before, but I'm not doing well and I know that this sub is full of people that would care. (All the names are changed from the originals and I know that others had it worse)

#

[Intro]

#

Elementary and middle school were a bit rough (I know some had it worse). I barely spoke to anyone, and the people who did talk to me mostly used me until they got bored or my "use period" terminated, then moved on. It left me antisocial, insecure, and somewhat desperate to find someone kind and trustworthy. I never saw myself as attractive, and I was (and still am) overweight. My only strengths were patience, optimism, and the "it can only get better" mindset I built back then.

#

[High school]

#

I started high school carrying years of that trauma. One of my few friends (he too used me in the past but changed some months before), Dave, ended up at the same school. He was more attractive, more confident, and much better with people, even if it was mostly thanks to how blunt he could be. We were in different classes — he made a whole class of friends, I made one or two.

#

[High hopes]

#

Near the end of first year, Dave introduced me to friends from another class: Nick, Alex, and Anne. Anne was funny, kind, patient, mature but still playful, and smart. Unlike most people, who if it was a choice between me and Dave would only ever talk to him, Anne actually preferred my more reserved, respectful and gentle attitude.

#

[Love]

#

Over time Dave started fading out, then changed schools without telling me directly — I found out from Nick, and that still stings. Meanwhile Nick and I got close, and I spent more time with Anne. She was the first person I really opened up to about my past, and the first one who felt empathy for it. About a year ago, I realized I'd fallen deeply in love with her.

#

[Downfall]

#

I told Nick first, who assumed she was asexual (she wasn't). Loving her made me feel alive, happier, lighter — I even started losing weight. But it also cost me my friendship with Nick, which hurt more than I expected (how that happened is unrelated to my feelings for Anne). Six months in, I couldn't hold it anymore — it was eating me from the inside and hurting a lot. So I told her. She turned me down gently and asked for space. We eventually went back to talking, but something had shifted. Her rejection broke something in me that hasn't healed; it was the one blow that finally destroyed me. I didn't know what to do with myself since so much of my life had revolved around her. Not one of my friends did more than nothing or the bare minimum when I asked for help. We're in the same class now, and I still struggle to hold myself together most days. Writing, gaming, and Reddit are some of the only things keeping me going, along with feelings for her I still haven't let go of. We also talked today about things we needed to change... it hurt a lot, but I think it's already a miracle if someone even cares to read this post.

#

Why post this? I don't want to be told this is dumb and I should just move on. I just wanted someone to actually hear it. Also, if the text it's a bit strange I shortened it with AI and modified back a little because I am very tired

Do you like to NOT play as a hero? (Read desc if the question sound stupid)

I am sure that most star wars fan consider they're favorite character a Jedi, a important named character or even a sith. And probably most of who installed this game what's to play as him. But I installed this game just because I could play as super generic clone number 3534. Is this only me or others too?

I'm interested in this game, can I ask a few questions?

1: how's the ai in this game?

#

2: is there something brutally imbalanced or broken in this game?

#

3: in general what do you think about this game?

#

4: if anyone of you played enlisted can someone compare it a little? Just so I have a baseline?

#

Thank you a lot for anyone who even try to answer

Do you NEED a microphone in this game?

Since I can't spend loads of money in a game and squad caught my eye, I wanted to ask this probably overdone question

#

The problem is simple enough... I have a microphone, my English comprehension is good but my speaking is bad and I sometimes stammer for I don't know what reason.
