Does the centered horizon line make this painting more boring. Is that a rule worth following?

I’m trying to darken/ fade the horse into the background. How do I do this? I keep just muddying the colors

Found this thin paper card in an old Marvel card collection binder and I cannot find another example of it ANYWHERE online.

Looks like a parody X-Men/X-Cons style character card. It also appears to have a real metallic marker signature on the front, not printed ink.
A few weird things:
It’s paper thin, not normal trading card stock

Doesn’t seem pack-issued

No PSA records or eBay comps I can find

Possibly some kind of convention promo or insert?

Does anybody recognize this item, the signature, or know what release/event it came from?
