What the heck happened to Captain America #117 First Appearance of the Falcon I believe people weren't ready for him to take the Captain America role yet. I always liked the Falcon as a supporting character, aka a sidekick, but I do think he could have been the new Captain America down the road, but they did it too soon in my opinion, but it does make sense since the Falcon has probably been a longer ally to Captain America, but overall, how do you think about the current market situation on Captain America #117?
My LCS just sent me pictures of the grade CGC gave my Godzilla vs. Megalon promo comic, the first US comic appearance of Godzilla, and it came back as a 9.2!!!! Yesssssss, off-white to white pages I’m excited but probably won’t sell it because here’s the problem: it doesn’t sell a lot in a CGC 9.2. The last sale was back in 2018, and the FMV for a CGC 9.0 is $1850. I will not sell it because of that reason, so I will just keep it because I'm a big Godzilla fan here, the king 👑 of monsters.
I finally, finally brought me a copy of Batman #357, the first appearance of Jason Todd and also the first Killer Croc. 🐊 I probably overpaid. I won this copy on eBay auctions for $150. This book is high grade it does look like it needs a press, but this comic will go well with my Batman #635, the first Jason Todd as Red Hood, but I’m happy with the buy.
We got two copies of Batman 251, Neal Adams's classic cover, both in a CGC 9.6. One is off-white while the other is white. Do page qualities really matter to you?

Has anyone else noticed that Walmart sells comics lol? 😂 Maybe it’s just a seller selling comics through Walmart, but still that’s funny. 😄 So when I’m done grabbing my groceries, let me go to the comic side and buy a comic. 😂
Speculation keeps the comic book market fresh and engaging; anyone can spec. I've never seen speculation as a bad thing; it’s basically gambling 🎰 and betting the character is going to be in a new video game, TV show, or even a movie. It definitely makes collecting comics more interesting, but speculation can make you a lot of money, or you could be sitting on tons of dead books and lose money, but that’s what the fun part is about. How do you all feel about speculation?
Daredevil #1 is one of the most affordable grails in the Silver Age that someone can afford. I mean, you can get a CGC 7.0 for $6k to $6500. You can’t really get other big grail books in a CGC 7.0 for $6k to $6500, like Fantastic Four #5. You can’t get it for $6k or $6500. Heck, you can’t even get Action Comics #252 in a CGC 7.0 for $6k or $6500. I’m trying to figure out why. Daredevil is pretty much very popular, but is Daredevil #1 the most affordable grail?
What’s my big, big holy grail book that one day I want to own? That’s easy: anything with the Spectre in the golden age's first appearance or second appearance or even third appearance. Heck, even the first appearance of the Justice Society of America with him in it. I just really like the Spectre; I always thought he was a very underrated character in DC Comics.
Absolute Batman #1 has been getting really, really hot lately because of the news that Absolute Batman is getting an animated series, which is good. I like the series and would love to see it in animated form, but a first print ungraded sells for $300, sometimes even a little over, and a CGC 9.8 sells for $450 to $460. I saw a sale yesterday where someone paid $550 for a CGC 9.8, but that dropped quick in one day. The comic series isn’t even over, so it will take a long, long time before that animated series even comes out, but if you really want this book, just wait; it will fall back down like any other book. There's a large print run, which will hold this book back from going up even more, but how do you think of the big jump in price?
